Spokesman of the Ha’eal district, Sheikh Motlab al-Nabet said the committee has the right to stop a women whose eyes seem “tempting” and order her to cover them immediately.

Saudi women are already forced to wear a loose black dress and to cover their hair and in some areas, their face, while in public or face fines or sometimes worse, including public lashings.

The announcement came days after the Saudi newspaper al-Watan reported that a Saudi man was admitted to a hospital after a fight with a member of the committee when he ordered his wife to cover her eyes. The husband was then stabbed twice in the hand.

One thing I hate is "tempting eyes."  :whatever:

Arabs are pure blooded Africans, they are almost 100% Black ancestry. I think this is why Ahmadinejad has such atypical Iranian features, because he's of Arabian descent. I've often thought Ahmadinejad looks African.

What is in the water in Saudi Arabia?  Before you know it they will have to wheel women around in black boxes because their shoes might be to appealing.  The only thing showing is the damn eyes and now they have a problem with that.

I am still in tears, 24 hours later, having read a non-fiction book called Souad, Burned Alive.  Women in "traditional" Muslim families are treated worse than animals.
We in the West can never understand the fundamentalist Islamic mindset, and I thank God for it.  To insist that the entire family's honor is bound up in the "correct and proper" behavior of its womenfolk leads to a batshit mentality of condoning, nay, encouraging, murder, all for the sake of so-called honor.  Absolutely vile, disgusting behavior that has no place in this world.

Now I'm pissed off after doing some research about this memoir.  Wish I would have looked the book up online before borrowing it from the library.  I found this

Upon reflection, I do have to agree the memoir is faked...I had no idea the author can't speak Arabic!!

What truly torques me is, like the woman who claims rape, or the person who yells racism, these bad things DO happen, and happen often, and yet when someone lies it makes the innocent victims climb a steeper hill.  In effect, books like this cause all the real honor killing victims to be victimized a second time. :argh:

So, I am sorry for my part in spreading what appears to be a lie IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE OF HONOR CRIMES.
