I boycott Black Friday (morning) too... because I don't want to get trampled on.  Good luck with your (in)effective boycott.  ::)

Not in the evening hours.  Trust me.  Go when all of those crazies have worn themselves out.  Those shoppers are up at 1am, waiting for Kohl's to open their doors at 4am.  They are usually at home by 3pm and officially done shopping for the day.  I worked at Macy's during the holidays last year.  I was fortunate enough to work 3pm-11pm on Black Friday.  It was dead.  No one was in the store.  It was so nice.

I worked the 5-11pm shift at Walmart Thanksgiving Day, and all it involved was unloading trucks (3 of them) and moving pallets and pallets of merchandise (wrapped in black plastic) onto the floor (especially after 10pm).  The store closed from 2-6am to break down the pallets.

People were already lining up outside the doors when I left!

Sure was glad I had the next day off.   :-)

Now that I think about it, I don't believe I have ever been in a store on Black Friday.

I shopped on Black Friday once.  I don't need anything bad enough to put myself through that again.

Why are DUmmies calling for such a boycott?  Aren't they boycotting just about every store in existence anyway?  Who'll notice?

I do not do the Black Friday thing.  Those people are nuts, and there are A LOT of them.  As Firechild pointed out, this is some people's "favourite"  :-) day.  (Canadian?)

Sparky's suggestion is great:  Don't just boycott!  Block those doors!  Do it!

I'm holding out for Jew Tuesday.  They have better prices.
