I was going through things last night, and came across something from last year.
I'm wondering whatever happened to this primitive.
There's no point in using my mole on Skins's island to inquire of primitives, given that the primitives have five-minute memories. They wouldn't remember a fellow primitive from a year and a half ago.
As a parenthetical aside, I have to admit I'm really pissed about the primitives and their disrespect for the recently-departed Chief S itting Bull, the bird-smacking stoned red-faced "Redstone" primitive.
When the Mount Rushmore of Great Primitives is sculpted, Chief S itting Bull will be on it, his mug where that of George Washington is on the real Mount Rushmore.
But less than a day after it was announced the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive had departed this vale of tears, the primitives forgot all about him. It speaks volumes when the DUmpster does a better, and more respectful, commemoration of one of the Great Primitives, than do his fellow primitives.Anyway.

I woke up deaf today.
I have had Meinere's disease since I have been 15. For the last 13 years, I have been deaf in my left ear. I am also afflicted with tinnitus in that ear. All day, every day, I hear a high pitched ringing that never, ever stops. It drove me insane at first. Now I only notice it when it is very quiet.
Which it now will be for the rest of my life. This morning, I woke up deaf.
I am devastated. I just started an MBA program 3 weeks ago. I don't read lips nearly well enough to be able to keep up in classes. I don't know any ASL, so an interpreter is out. I am going to have to quit the program and go back to working a minimum wage job. That is, if I can even find one. In this economy, who is going to hire someone with a profound disability when there are so many able-bodied job seekers?
I haven't accumulated enough work credits to qualify for Social Security disability, and even if I had, there is a six month wait before you can even apply for benefits. Even if I were to start getting disability checks tomorrow, they top out at less than $1000 / month, which is certainly not enough to live any kind of decent life on.
I feel like my life is over, and I'm not even 30 yet.
When I first read this, my thought was that the primitive had pulled a Taverner--overconsumed some drugs, or took a bad dose of drugs--and I still think that.
Has anyone seen this primitive lately?
Just curious.
