Why are Grave Dancing threads only locked and not deleted?

They are specifically against the DU rules and other posts against rules are 'deleted and Name Removed'.

It seems to me that just locking these threads and leaving them to be read is tacit approval of this behavior.

1. A couple of reasons

Although gravedancing is not permitted, most of the time it doesn't cause much disruption. And usually when dealing with Original Posts, mods prefer to go the lock route rather than deleting the entire thread. (That's not to say deleting entire threads never happens, of course.)

Of course it never happens.
