Gross. Much like the minority of primitives that have abstained from taking mind altering substances, the number of primitives living in homes not crawling with vermin would be in the minority:

What to do if you suspect you have rats in your house?

I live in a mobile home and I have been hearing all kinds of scratching sounds in the walls. I suspect it is rats, but have no idea how to get rid of them. An exterminator will probably be expensive. Will rat poison do the trick. I love animals, but when they start invading my home, they will be killed.

1. I live in a trailer too, and also have scratching in the walls. Mice. Once the cats retired from

hunting we had to switch to traps. I caught 11 mice and a mole last winter. REALLY bad year for rodents last year.

3. Had rats in the attic a while back. Called in an exterminator who brought

traps. About a minute after he left both traps were occupied and we called him back to remove them.

9. I can't imagine using that "poison" on any living animal,

even a rat.

14. When I was a young married, some 30 odd years ago, we had the same problem.

I worked 2nd shift, hubby worked 3rd. I would come home and all night I would hear this scratching in the walls. One night I had a dream about how I got so frustrated with the noise I got up and started tearing down the wall. Inside the wall there was not a rat, but a baby, about 4-5 months old complete with diaper, bottle and toys. Needless to say I immediately made hubby do something about our "friend". It still creeps me out to "see" that baby in my mind.

The madmom primitive really is as mad as a hatter.  Friggin' fruitcake.

18. This morning about 4:30, I heard scratching at the back door.

There was no way I was going to open that door to see what it was, but it sounded big.

No mention of whether the scratching was inside or outside of the door, so my bet is that a poor rodent finally broke through your drywall to the filth encrusted layer you live in, and was scrambling for a way out.

23. I struggle with that myself.

I have packrats. They are extremely difficult to trap, and my cat stays focused on smaller game, like mice and voles. I only see mice when she brings one in and releases it in a misguided attempt to teach me to hunt.

Poison? They will die in the walls. If you are lucky. If not, they'll die outside and act as secondary poison for any critter that tries to clean them up.

Traps? I set them all the time. They rarely catch anything. And I can't get the traps to where they are the most active.

Good luck.

The cat tries showing the LWolf primitive how to hunt, and the LWolf primitive tries to show the cat how to get on welfare and/or disability.  Neither understands the other.

That's probably because soap and general cleanliness aren't dirty words in your living quarters.

You can keep a very clean house and rodents will still be attracted for the shelter/warmth during winter.

Very true.  I would not think general cleanliness is a trait many primitives practice, though.  Dirty minds lead to dirty living.

We live on a farm, so every time the fields are turned over, mice come to the house. We have two barn cats that pretty much take care of the problem. We also have traps and poison to catch the ones the cats miss. Our cats are smart enough (so far anyway) to not eat poisoned mice.

Yeah, the DUmbasses get rats partly because it's shelter, and partly because of the filth.
Their roaches are due solely to the filth.

Is there anything, anything at all, besides bitching, wanting other people's stuff, scamming the system for free stuff, and eating snack foods?

If society were to even revert back a mere 70 years all of them would be dead or dying.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

They generally don't touch anything that's already dead.

Sorry GB. If your neighbor has roaches they will migrate to your house and it don't matter how clean it is. First restaurant I worked at had them bad because the house behind the place had them. The exterminator told us about how roaches migrate. You can control them, but as long as they have a breeding place, it will continue to be a problem.

I get rats because I live about 100 yards from the river. Big rats too. Poison and traps and you need to make sure they do not have an easy entry into your house. What works for me is I "feed them" in my shop. I put down about 3 poison cubes so they go there. I keep putting down cubes until they are gone. Put traps under the house in case one finds it's way in which happens on occasion. The bastards are smart. They will find a way in.

Think of it as "feeding them their last meal."

That rat couldn't care less if you got sick and died from a disease it brought into your house, and wouldn't hesitate to eat YOU, regardless if you were living or dead.

Besides, I thought ocelots capture and eat small game, like rats.   :loser:

Why don't they hire UGP and let her live in the attic for a few weeks. I'm sure the rats and mice would leave voluntarily.

Okay, how about just cutting a vagina-sized hole in the wall, after which you stick a vacuum into the hole and suck the rats out, tearing them apart in the process?  You don't mind doing this to humans.

I can see this idea going horribly wrong for the biologically-male DUmmies.
