McDonald's McRib Sandwich Made From Tortured Pigs - Investors Misled, Claims Humane Society

Animal rights group files lawsuit against pork-producing giant for lying to investors about being 'animal-friendly'

By Ray Downs | Christian Post Reporter

- snip -

The fast food giant gets the pork for its McRib from Virginia-based Smithfield Foods, which according to its website delivers "Good food. Responsibly" and lists "advancing animal care" as one of its core values.

Those claims, however, are being contested by the Humane Society after the animal rights group sent an investigator to work for one month in the factory last year and found evidence of abuse and torture, according to an investigation summary released by the HSUS. The legal complaint accuses Smithfield of "issuing unlawfully false or misleading representations about the animal welfare and environmental practices," that has misled investors.

My "give-a-sh**-o-meter" doesn't seem to be working in this case.

If my bacon is peeled strip by strip from a screaming pig...I wouldn't care. After years of whiny, sniveling PETA reports about animal cruelty on farms...if America cared, things would have already changed.

Farms raise animals for food. If the animals are depressed by that, too bad. It's their fault for tasting good.

This is the bottom line: PETA DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANIMAL CRUELTY...They want to make raising animals so expensive, that everyone is forced to accept a vegan diet.

The same PETA that I belonged to at 1 time because I really thought they cared for animals, come to find out that when I called about a pet store feeding gecko's to the larger lizards in the store and I wanted them to do something about it they dismissed me and actually said "that wouldn't be worthy of our time and wouldn't generate publicity", that same freaking PETA!

I think McRib is about the best sandwich McDonald's has made. Maybe it's the extra adrenalin load in that tortured pig meat. Whatever, it's
really good, and I wish they'd make it a permanent item, including the tortured taste.

I loathe the HSUS.  And I'm betting none of the DUmmies has ever worked with pigs or been in a containment barn.  silly me... of course they haven't.  If they had they'd be clean, well-nourished, and disease-free.

The DUmmies or the pigs?  I'm thinking the pigs are cleaner and healthier than DUmmies.

I had a McRib sandwich tonight and I thought it was pretty bad,  I don't like the pickles.  Just my opinion.

I never liked the McRib but if it upsets the DUmmies that much, I might have to buy one.

lol.  Yeah, I wasn't clear.  You have to shower entering and leaving a containment barn, be up to date on vaccinations, not ill or carrying vermin, and eat while there.

I did my part this weekend. Bacon for breakfast, and a pile of riblets on the 'Que for dinner last night.

The important part of the story, of course, is the meat in a McRib is actually pork! Yum...

Ugh, same here.  I call it the McShit sandwich.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

I boil live crawfish and eat them, too.  People say you can hear them screaming as they cook to a nice red color, but I think it's just the steam pressure being released from their shells.
