So our TiT wanna be was born in 1959. Yet he walked picket lines in the 60's with his grandpa? Feasible, but highly unlikely. 18 years old would make it 1977, the only chance for military service would be Grenada or Lebanon in the 80's. He'd be 31 for Gulf War I. 41 for Gulf War II. No war experiences that were "seared" into his memory, or we would have heard of him single handedly take Saddam and the Republican Guard out with a swiss army knife. I smell
I was awarded two combat medals and two weapons medals.
That's how I took it as well. When I entered Navy service, we were the one of the last last groups to receive the National Defense Ribbon. Since he is younger than me, I can't imagine what "medal" he might be referring to. And as to weapons medals, they could only be his marksmanship badges for maybe pistol, rifle, and grenade. What a wanker.
Everyone on active duty and drilling Reservists during Gulf 1, and all active duty and mobilized Reservists since 9-11 have gotten it.
