Erasmus, I watch these protests curious on how how all this will turn out.
Looking back on the crazy days and years of the 1960-1970 era I wonder just how much they did to halt the War in Asia. I remember the burning of Chicago with the Doors music singing Light my fire in the background.
I was an on looker in those days, Hubby and family off to war, scared to death to offer any opinions on anything political, even to my parents as I had to think of Hubby's and family's carears.
Different age and times now to be sure, one thing I notice is back then the protesters 1960-70 were college drop out mostly, kids caught up in the Drug and free love movement. Young kids with family's willing to support the kids as they were on a quest to {FIND Themselves } --- The kids came home hungry needing medical care for flea bites, STD's, beaten, raped, pregnant or in no condition to do much more then apologise to their parents and hope to continue their education and become just like the people they protested against.
The children of the past that headed into unknown territory were run aways, kids flunking out of college or high school, total dead heads that were introduced to drugs by Timothy Leary at their college campuses by the administrates of their colleges. Burn the draft card or get sent into Hell----Parents sent their sons to Canada or Europe ---A live coward was better then a dead Hero, or a living Hero that would come home to be spit on or called a baby killer.
Today the demonstrators seem to have gotten an education but cannot find jobs. By necessity they still at 25-35 still live with their parents. They cannot afford to leave the shelter of their parents to get their own place, get married or afford any children.
My question is, Why are they so against the Cooperate world and not out in DC or their State Capital demanding to know how Obama has in a few short years messed up American life with the help of our State governments controlled by his party.
The problem as I see it is the unemployment of the educated and the willing to be educated. The staggering price for an education even with grants and loans. If college loans are not paid off, then when they do get a job the IRS takes any refund they would get for years.
How do people pay back educational loans if they cannot find a freaking job other then flip burgers with 4-6 years of education under their belt.
I do not want a masters in biology to be handing me fries and a drink, nor do I want laid off Liberians checking out my grocery's.
