15 shot, 1 killed, during 7-hour span Friday nightBy Peter Nickeas Staff reporter10:09 a.m. CDT, October 29, 2011At least 15 people were wounded, one fatally, in separate shootings between 5 p.m. and midnight on Friday on the city's South and West sides, police said.Three people were shot in Englewood between 11:00 and 11:40, according to police.Two men, ages 19 and 21, were shot on the 6800 block of South Normal Boulevard about 11:40 p.m. on Friday. Both are listed in good condition, police said.The 19-year-old was shot in his back, ankle and ear, police said, and was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center. The 21-year-old was shot in the elbow and was transported to Saint Bernard Hospital, police said.About a half hour before that and a couple blocks away, a 29-year-old man was shot on the 6600 block of South Union Avenue. He was walking when someone shot him in the chest, police said. He was transported to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and is listed in serious condition, police said.At 11:15 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in his chest before being transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said. A man approached him in the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place in the South Austin neighborhood when he was shot.At least four people were shot in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.Two were shot during a home invasion in the 7800 block of South Yates Boulevard in the South Shore neighborhood about 10 p.m. according to preliminary reports from Chicago police.
