Next Saturday? I thought it was this Saturday.

You might want to check; after all, there are differences across the border.

My calendar says Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday, November 6.

.WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EDT TODAY...

* LOCATIONS...INTERIOR YORK COUNTY MAINE WESTWARD INTO SOUTHERN
NEW HAMPSHIRE.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY WET SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...12 TO 18 INCHES OF SNOW...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS
OVER 20 INCHES.

Yeah, we're getting close to the 18 inch point now.  Radar shows snow starting to break up in Concord/Manchvegas area, meaning we'll be getting snow until a little after daybreak.

Will post some pics when it gets light.

Still a few hours of snow to go.  Not like I really wanted to go anywhere today.  I just hope the kids don't expect much in the way of trick or treating tonight...

We didn't get much.  I noticed that, when singing with the Traditional Choir at 4 PM Mass yesterday, that we had a fair number of people at Mass, but nowhere near as many as we had for the Saturday before Irene hit.  We got maybe 2-3 inches, but there's a lot of leaves on the trees.

I had power all day at my apt however....

I saw something on Drudge where somewhere in NH got 31 inches from this storm.  The one example in NY that was cited was Harriman down near NYC, which got 16 inches.

From what I've heard, Sparky, the cheese state is in for a hellacious winter. It's gonna be a pain in the scrotum, but I can't wait. I was born in Alaska, so I'm way more partial to extreme cold than extreme heat. My body can't regulate in it. I'd die down in TX.

I can't wait for Nov-Feb. Call me crazy, but I'm gonna love it!

Sounds like the northeast is getting the kind of snow we get down south, a wet, heavy, stick to stuff and tear it down kind of snow. Just be glad the ground wasn't frozen because then it packs down to a layer of ice and can't be scraped off the roads.

Don't worry, globall warming is on the way to melt it........may be next April but I assure you it's on the way....Al Gore said so.

Let me see...the grasshoppers and the crickets done....uh....the woolly worm has seven bands...uh....the moss is thi.....awh hell, it's about time for us to have one of "THOSE" winters down south again.

Just a couple days ago we had some pretty big almost-hail balls. I say "almost," because they exploded upon impact. It was pretty cool to watch.

We had some of that on Thanksgiving Day of 1988. It was from the size of a pea to the size of a penny. I remember so well because I was working in that mess and it hurt when it hit you in the face.

Boy, I'd love to see some of that fall on the "Occupiers". :-)

Well, it didn't really hurt like hail when I stuck my hand out the window. I'd actually call it "soft hail. Like I said, it exploded into basically water on the windshield when it hit, and made a small *thump*

I agree that more solid hail should rain on the Occupooper's parade though. They deserve severe weather of every kind interupting their little shindig. All from that horrendous "Globul Warmin'," of course.

Jaffrey--right next to Rindge, home of the maternal ancesstress of the Pittstain.  Concord got almost 22 inches, Peterborough got 24.  I'd guess we got 16-18, although the roads were clear by noon yesterday.  Just waiting on cable to come back.

My mom was telling me, that they might not have electricity for 7 days!!(Rye, Portsmouth) My sister doesn't either(Durham)

It's funny you mentioned that area. Jaffrey, Rindge.. I lived there for 7 years in New Ipswich, 15 miles south east of Peterborough. They used to get tons of snow every year. I can't say i miss it however....

New Hampshire.  So far PSNH says they've still got 190K out, mostly along the I-93 corridor.

I agree with you Sparky on that one..
A tree will grow back , unless it is dead. Not only is it a safety issue, it is a bit of common sense as well,,,,

People are so gullible.  I went for some coffee and a danish before the power came back this morning and was listening to an ad for a Dura flame log.  The ad was saying something to the effect that they are made from recycled, renewable material.  Hello, what the heck is a real log, chopped liver?? Chop and plant.  How tough a concept is that?   :mental:
