Despite that mauling, Donahue is still a stark raving moonbat. You'd think he would've learned, but apparently not.

Seems with age it's developed into a full blown psychotic episode or just being married to Marlo Thomas has had it's effect.

A 30 year-old video and Milton Freedman nailed it.  The principles simply do not change or go out of date.  Not that I would consider him "prophetic", it's just that looking at the Euro crisis as just the latest example, it all makes sense, and it always will.

The part that the liberals just don't seem to get is that business with greed.

As fallible, flawed human beings, that's a part of our psyche that is ingrained in us. Someone of a more religious bent might call it "original sin".

Waging war is another quality that we humans have that isn't going to go away because some silver-haired talk show host laments about the starving people in Africa.

Warmaking and greed are qualities that carry over from the individual to the group as well. That's why Congress is as ****ed up as it is. We've got a bunch of professional politicians who get to make the rules and out of greed, they do so to better themselves and each other. We shouldn't be surprised by this, but the liberals are. And they weep and gnash their teeth in response.

I'm still trying to figure out the warmaking angle with Congress. Kinda hard to point a finger at that since they haven't bothered to declare one since 1941...... :shrug:

I liked his point that political self interest is certainly no better than economic self interest.

No matter how many times Ive watched this clip over the years, its still as poignant and true today as it was the very first time. And this (Phil Donahue) of course was Marlo Thomas's (the daughter of Danny Thomas) 'guy'. Look what happens to the children of celebrities sometimes. Henry Ford, Danny Thomas, Ronald Reagan ...
