« on: October 21, 2011, 03:05:52 PM »
Heading out..................

Taking my kids tent camping for the weekend.  Supposed to get down in the low 30's tonight  :hyper:

My two young one's are going to have a blast, I think.  I know the girl will, she loves to rough house.  My boy...well he is afraid of a goldfish so....it should be fun in a forest full of stuff  :thatsright:  11yr old is my Boy Scout so he does this stuff once a month.

Have a wonderful weeked yall! Loves you long time  :naughty:

Have fun Gina!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Ahh, camping with kids! Miss that!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

My youngest is going with his dad this weekend to do the same thing with scouts. The low is 39 the night they will be sleeping in the tent.  :panic:

Saw this thread title and thought Gina was about to call us unenlightened and unintelligent like Akubra did...

I'm back.  It was cold  :panic: but we ended up leaving early because a huge group of high school catholic students arrived and just thought it was time to party.  me and 4 other's complained about them and I got a refund.  Stupid kids.  I just finished writing a letter to the Catholic school

If you told them you weren't a Catholic, they're probably laughing their asses off and high-fiving each other.

Hello Mr. xx,

This past weekend (10/21-10/23) I had a planned camping trip with my family at Tishomingo State Park in Mississippi. We were told that the people that would be across from our camping site would be scouts and we were okay with that because scouts are taught respect for other people.

We arrived back to our camp after a hike around 2:30 pm to find teenagers running around, throwing footballs and hatchets (hitting our tent with a football), climbing up in trees, blasting music, and cutting through our camp site.

I went to complain to the Park Ranger and just decided to get a refund and leave because those kids were out of control and the chaperone's could only sit around in their chairs watching.  There were also 3 other families there that complained about all the noise and antics to the Park Ranger too.  I did see the Park Ranger come and speak to them.

I am very disheartened by the way those kids acted.  My child goes to a private Catholic school and I have never witnessed such behavior on our expeditions.  Anyway, I hope you talk to these students and the chaperone's that acted horribly and ruined fellow camp goer's vacations.

I'm surprised a group of Catholic school kids would behave that way! Seriously, I was raised up in a Catholic school until Jr. High when my parents thought I should be exposed to "everyday people." I would have been terrified the nuns would have kicked my ass! Sisters of Mercy...not so much

oH THEY don't whoop ass anymore.  When I put my son in Catholic school I was actually disappointed that they didn't do corporal punishment.  That boy needs a good asswhooping.  He isn't afraid of mine anymore. :censored:
