Arctic Dave (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 06:42 AMOriginal message http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=125x323518Been listening to NPR talk about the "terror plot" and the more they the more it sounds like a BS false flag operation. What I am not hearing is why they would want to off the Suadi. How does this benefit Iran?Cui Bono is the big question. Can anyone here give me a reason why Iran would this guy dead?Side note:I thought it was the height of hypocracy the way the US governments panties are in a buch for someone "supposedly" wanting bomb someone in a foreign country. LOL
NightWatcher (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 06:47 AMResponse to Original message 3. But wacking this one guy was going to trigger WW3... So now we can Bomb Iran Things bad at home?Start more wars! We've had a hard on for Iran for decades and will do anything we can to bomb them
leveymg (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 06:49 AMResponse to Original message 4. Doesn't add up -- official Iranian action would involve way more than 2 people. This is "underwear bomber" stuff - looks like an agent provocateur talked some half-wit lower level operative into some unworkable plot, and the Neocons and agency that cooked all this up are now trying to make hay. That's my initial gut feeling, anyway.Just smells wrong. It'll go away if there's nothing more to it.
KansDem (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 06:49 AMResponse to Original message 5. Yea, and why all of a sudden are we concerned about the Saudi ambassador? Edited on Wed Oct-12-11 06:50 AM by KansDemI mean, the FBI wanted to question Osama's relatives after 9/11 but the Saudi Royal Family said "no" and so Bush said "no." The result? No investigation involving the family of the alleged killer. So why are we all that concerned about this?I thought "bullshit" when I first heard of this plot...Besides, just how many of these "plots" are discovered daily and shrugged off as "business as usual?"
Tierra_y_Libertad (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 06:59 AMResponse to Original message 12. Maybe the U.S. should look at it's own record. Start with Mossadegh, Lumumba, Allende, Castro...... and a long list of others who felt the benevolent hand of American foreign policy.
GreatCaesarsGhost (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 07:02 AMResponse to Original message 15. I think it has more to do with the DEA. Divert attention from the arms scandal in Mexico with the DEA uncovering a terrorist plot.
BR_Parkway (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 07:19 AMResponse to Original message 16. Clear out OccupyDC for "their own safety" - seems interesting that the police just said they could stay for 4 months when all these other cities are trying to clear them out. Perhaps they don't want to make martyrs in DC or allow it to get any more attention. So tell the cops to cool it, let them stay, show what great folks they are by not busting heads like Boston and the Brooklyn Bridge. Then in a few days, go to them and discuss some new aspect of the Iranian terror plot that has them being personally in harms way. I mean, the news keeps saying how Iran was willing to kill 100-150 bystanders just to get this guy....
Fire Walk With Me (1000+ posts) Wed Oct-12-11 07:48 AMResponse to Original message 20. Could be a "Wag the Dog" against #OWS, a weapon of mass distraction. TERRA! TERRA! TERRA!
Wow, you'd think for a minute there that Bush was back in office.
When did Shi'a muzzies ever need a reason to kill Sunni muzzies?Or vice versa. They hate each other as much as they hate us.
It's the BATF that is the focus of GunWalker, along with Holder. Still the wag the dog idea is plausible.
Hell done froze over, I'm with the Dummy. Mighty convenient that Fast and Furious heats up and all of a sudden Holder pulls a rabbit out of his ass. A rabbit, I might say, could have been pulled weeks ago or weeks from now.
It might have been stated upthread, but there was something on Drudge yesterday about Holder knowing this since June. So, of course Holder is trying to "wag the dog."
Makes you wonder what else they might be saving 'For later' that might get away from them, the same way Fast and Furious did, while they are awaiting that right political moment, dunnit?
Not with this economy.
