GOP debate - Las Vegas
« on: October 12, 2011, 03:30:14 PM »
We have a GOP debate coming up next week in Las Vegas.  I'm wondering if any of you have ever attended a debate?  And if so, was it a lot of money to go?  I'm not even sure if this is open to the general public.  I don't see why not, but I've never had an opportunity to attend.  Right now, the stories in the paper are only focusing on Perry and Romney, but I also read the other hopefuls will be attending over the three days.

This is huge.

Some three-day thing called Project New West summit, with Harry Reid, kicks off Oct. 16. Then Oct. 19-21, the Western Republican Leadership Conference is here.  Then to top it off, Obama is visiting Las Vegas on Oct. 24.

Never been to a debate, but if you go, please report on the experience!

No idea what the cost might be. The one debate in Florida was huge. It looked like there were thousands of chairs set up in the conference center.

I don't have one of those, but it's Halloween season.  I'm sure I could find one.

Well now I am bumming.  :(

It is way too expensive to go to The Venetian for a couple of hours.  $242 for general admission and the last day to purchase tickets was yesterday.  That price is a car payment, so I must pass on attending the debate.  BOO!  I'm sure there will be stuff for me to do without having to go into the actual event.  I will keep researching and see what I can find.  It's a three day event.  There's got to be something.

Well, you could do what they're doing in NY -- hang out on the street for 3 days and whine about being a 99%-er.

Oh my gosh... good idea.  I bet those Occupy Las Vegas freaks will be around next week for this.  I can just mole with them.  And take pictures with all of them.  :)

Just try to stay upwind from them. They get pretty stinky, I hear.

But you could interview a few of them and make them feel like they're speshull.
