The City Council voted 4-3 to seek bankruptcy protection for Harrisburg, which has a debt burden five times its general-fund budget "because of an overhaul and expansion of a trash-to-energy incinerator that doesn’t generate enough revenue," Bloomberg reported.

It'd be nice if the bankruptcy judge would actually find the city council personally and professionally liable for restructuring under Chapt. 9.

That way, future city council members know that when they vote to spend money on the next really stooopid project, their own asses will be held to account.

*Sigh*

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
