I saw one guy parked in front of the Dana Point City Hall yesterday that had a sign propped against a tree that said "Occupy Dana Point" and he was holding a hand lettered sign blathering on about ending all wars and something about corporate greed.

Dana Point is a farily conservative small beach town in the predominately conservative South Orange County portion of So. Cal.

We have one here, but as with most it's a small "occupy". Pretty boring.
The past 3 days my wife and I spent some time in the San Francisco area. We went past the occupy SF dimwits a few times when we went to Fishermans Warf. By the way the media is portraying it you'd think there were HUNDREDS of "occupiers". The reality? Maybe 100 (my wife thought 50 was closer) and that includes the street bums hanging out for free food and a place to sleep.

Sorry for the big pic, but that's what the wife sent me. Essentially you see the whole thing here. It's a strip of concrete about 50 ft (?) wide and maybe 50 yds long. The backside is the rear most set of palm trees. It's 10:30 AM so the occupiers aren't awake just yet. Protesting and partying takes a toll, right?

Occupy Nashville battling thefts

Protesters say they’ve had laptops, phones and supplies stolen, including a tent. They are not discouraged by the thefts, but on Thursday they were reorganizing their living area to ensure more security for participants and their gear.

About two dozen people camped out on the plaza in the cold and rain Wednesday night, including a large number of homeless who were occupying the plaza long before the protesters showed up. More have been drawn to the square by the free food and other goods that have been donated to Occupy Nashville.

Here in Wyoming, or "meanwhile, back at the ranch...,"  we apparently have about 70 trust fund bambinos trotting around the state.  We're a small group, here in Wyoming.  I know a few of these marijuana-muddled, former east-coast dwellers.

Anyway, they've taken they're show on the road.  Cheyenne, Jackson, Sheridan, uh... after that they pretty much run out of state (at least the parts with people).  When they hit my town, I'll go see the few I know.  I'll remind them that Jesus loves them and that Pastor so-and-so and the congregation misses them.  They'll go home and change their "cause celeb."

We're kind of like the south out here, in that we like our eccentrics and take care of them.

UPDATE:

Occupy Las Vegas gets permission to use/camp on county property.  They will be located just three miles from my home at the intersection of Tropicana and Paradise.  If you have ever been to Las Vegas, this is near the Thomas & Mac Center at UNLV.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/oct/21/occupy-las-vegas-movement-finds-spot-set-camp/

I really want to go over that way and check out the crowd, get pictures of ridiculous "demands" and entitlements.  However, after considering this, I'm not sure if I can go or not.

Reason:

I do not have my CCW permit.  And I refuse to go to this Occupy stuff without proper protection.  I could open carry, but I think that would be a dead give away that I was not one of "them".  My husband has his CCW, but if he goes, my daughter goes too as we do not have a babysitter.  I refuse to take a child to a communist/marxist pow-wow.

I am really sorry you guys.  I'll be more than happy to head over there and take pictures from across the street, but not able to blend in with them for safety reasons.

I love when PBR is here.  This whole city is swimming in cowboy hats.  The Walmart near my home is the closest one to PBR, so all you see is cowboy hats for at least a week in this area.  It's fun.  :)

I've been out there on the barricades (so to speak) with the "Occupiers," and let me tell you something: they are an admirable group of people, many of whom are employed, older than in their 20's, and suffused with a sense of purpose that finds its origin in the way our democracy, and yes, our version of capitalism, have been totally and completely corrupted to benefit the moneyed few at the expense of all the rest of us.

Stop typing, get off your fat duffs, and GET OUT THERE to stand up for what you know, in your heart of hearts, is right, and stop criticizing the people who are doing it for you.

Our Occupiers have been told to set up camp elsewhere because the spot they're on is supposed to be used during remembrance day ceremonies.

I have a felling the veterans will have to find elsewhere this year unfortunately. If the occupiers don't move it will seriously harm their image (more so) to the average person around here.

I drove past the Occupy Las Vegas "campground" this morning, ZERO protesters.  NADA.  All I saw was a big empty lot full of dirt.  Maybe the protesters were there, but they blended in with the dirt.  Not sure.  But they definitely were not there last Saturday or this Saturday.  I'm starting to think they only show up for a M-F protest.

Supposedly, they are downtown here in OKC at a small, outdoor ampitheatre that was recently constructed down there. When the number was at its peak, it was reported that 200 or so were there.

We had a 99 hour occupation that was initiated by College of Charleston, NAACP and Union thugs.  From our local :

Charleston City Police Chief Greg Mullen visited the Occupy Charleston site at around 3 p.m. and said he saw no immediate issues of concern with how the early set up is going.

"We're just looking forward to a good weekend," he said. "We'll show that Charleston will do this the right way."

The crowd size at Brittlebank Park had grown to about 50 people, up from the 15-20 that were among the earlier arrivals at the 12 noon outset.

Several of those attending the first day were making their feelings known through the use of homemade protest signs. "Bank$ got Bailed-out We got $old-out," read one. "Ban all lobbying," said another.

The only weather concern was the strong winds blowing across the Ashley River into the tent area.

OC joined with the Columbia group at the state capitol but I don't believe the numbers were in the hundreds.  Non story around here, well the papers covered it extensively but only made themselves look stupid for doing so.  NAACP and Longshoreman's Union were quoted heavily in all the news. This was pretty funny...

Members of Occupy Charleston relied on a rowdy tune Thursday to jump-start the 23rd hour of their Brittlebank Park occupation, blaring Jim Hendrix's electric version of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The volume was at full blast, bouncing off the outside walls of the Charleston police station 200 yards away.

The noise forced many of the 50 or so people, including about five officers, to cover their ears
