OCCUPY (insert your town here)
« on: October 07, 2011, 05:04:18 PM »
I had to nadin where Occupy Las Vegas is being held.  I get bored and need to go see what these losers are doing here.

So the first thing I find is this:

Quote
First Friday - #OccupyLasVegas Promotion / Fundraising - Oct 7
Submitted by admin on October 7, 2011 - 3:00am
Date / Time:
Friday, October 7, 2011 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Downtown Las Vegas - meet in front of the laundry on Casino Center.
http://www.firstfriday-lasvegas.org/
We need people to distribute flyers about #OccupyLasVegas.
We will be selling any donated art to fundraise for the cause.
Bring shoes (but not high heels) to donate to the cause!
Facebook Event Link:
https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=241039675948593

They don't want high heels.

The Facebook event has a whopping 84 guests attending tonight at the ghetto laundry mat.   That is if they remember to show up.

And this apparently happened yesterday.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/oct/06/hundreds-march-along-strip-protest-corporate-greed/

I am really upset that I had to work and miss this hilarity.

Quote
Lobb was one of hundreds of people who took to the Strip on Thursday afternoon for the Occupy Las Vegas march, an offshoot of the Occupy Wall Street protests that started in New York three weeks ago.

I'd like to know if they counted in a few tourists with the hundreds number.

Are they going to throw them at Obama since that is a big insult to Muslims?

I'm not sure, but high heels make better weapons.  Not like I would know... just figured that heel would hurt more than some sneaker to the face.

Looking through the headlines today, this is what I noticed.

Quote
Occupy Nashville protesters camp out downtown

As the sun dropped below the War Memorial Auditorium in downtown Nashville on Saturday, Michael Custer, 47, strode up to the steps of Legislative Plaza, blanket and guitar case in hand, and looked over the group of about 35 people who had gathered there for the first wave of Occupy Nashville.
Quote
500 turn out at rally supporting Gibson Guitar

“If the government is going to target Gibson today, whose business are they going to raid tomorrow?” said Cookie Bowers, 64. “We said, ‘We’ve just got to go.’ ”

It was a sentiment echoed by others in the crowd of about 500 who turned out for Saturday afternoon’s “We Stand With Gibson” rally, some carrying signs that read “Who’s Next” and “When they come for you, who will be left to speak?”

Anything interesting happening somewhere else?

Yeah, I played a wedding in Columbia, MO on Saturday.

About 30 people were there. Lots of pics were taken. It might've made the papers, but not the evening news -- too many normally clothed, regular-type people were there. Moonbats were in attendance (Columbia is a college town after all), but they were controlled.

I'd like to take a look at some of that "art," if any materialized.  BTW, where exactly do the "funds" go that were "raised?"

If I have time, I'll attend a First Friday event.  My daughter probably makes better art at daycare.

Occupy Nova Scotia. But they only "Occupied" Halifax.

Occupy NS facebook
Some photos of them...

I'm not going to lie though, they did get a decent amount of people to show up. I imagine most of the people can from the surrounding areas of the city, not from the city itself.

I thought about going to the city to see what they were doing, but I can't be bothered to drive two hours to see a bunch of people complain.

I drove past the small field that Occupy Hartford has been forced into. About 15 dirty hippies, two gay emo types playing with bubbles like little kids. They had maybe a couple hundred, at best, when they marched on the capitol last week.  Such freaks.

I'll go by again tomorrow if they are still there and get pics.

Anything interesting happening somewhere else?

Omaha had something between 500 and a thousand, but that included Tea Party patriots.

It was odd; the occupoopers and the Tea Party patriots got along just fine, indulging in friendly banter and chitchattery.  No dirty words, no troubles, no arrests, nobody even jaywalking.

Hundreds march through downtown

Hundreds of Occupy Omaha protesters politely snaked their way through downtown streets Saturday.

About 10:30 a.m. most of the few hundred Occupy protesters were stationed in front of the Federal Reserve Bank building at 2201 Farnam St.

Many vehicles, including one taxi cab, honked as they drove by the large crowd.

The atmosphere remained calm throughout the march with Tea Party members mixing in amicably with the Occupy protesters.

The few hundred protesters stretched across several blocks as they marched, but the crowd made sure to wait for the light at each intersection.

That's actually the Colorado State Patrol, on the orders of a DEMOCRAT governor.

Basically, what the Governor told them was that if they want to protest, it's their first amendment right, and they're welcome to do so.  BUT... the capitol grounds are only open from 08:00 to 22:00 each day, and so anybody attempting to camp on the grounds will be cited, and/or arrested.

Well they had some show up but unlike the gang in NYC they were peacefull about it.

http://www.wowt.com/news/headlines/131920598.html

The Occupy Wall Street protests have hit the streets of Omaha as hundreds gathered with signs, and flags.

Saturday morning, Occupy Omaha started with chants on the steps of city hall, and marched north. They say they're protesting to take back democracy and build a new economy. The crowd was peaceful as no one was doing anything illegal.

Watch in amazement as a visibly crazy loser denounces the decent hard-working Americans of the Tea Party as crazy losers, and condemns as “greedy” those who would like to keep the wealth they have created instead of letting it be stolen by avaricious parasites like himself:

We’ve passed the point where any decent person could support the Left. Now it’s just a question of who wins: the clean or the unclean. If it’s the latter, wealth and freedom will be eradicated.

There's 90 to 100 by the east side of the Capitol building in Albany.  I'd ask my wife to go there and take pics on her lunch break (seeing that she works near there), but I don't want her to get anywhere near those cretins.
