I am so proud of my children's generation   Updated at 8:35 PM

They have recognized they have been ****ed and are figuring out how to secure their own future against the resurgence of robber barony.

I stand in awe of the accomplishments over these last 3 weeks.

I stand in awe of the inclusiveness of the 99% movement.

I stand in awe that their grave peril is being met with love for all.

Suddenly, I have newly found hope for humanity.

I'm off to put on some Buffalo Springfield.

Wow so a bunch of lazy freeloaders makes you proud?
 :mental:

If a majority of this generation is like this then humanity is doomed.
What happened to Americans? We used to value hard work, and encourage success. Now we praise those who want everything for free, and condemn those who work hard and prosper, for being greedy. What a backwards world we are in.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Well, my son is of the same generation and he's not in NYC and the only occupation he is involved in is working as a teacher and a coach and being responsible.  Maybe the DUmmies' kids should try it sometime.

The sad thing is your son, will probably work his entire life to pay taxes so that the kids that the DUmmy is so proud of, never have to work a day in their lives.

My son too (22) is working a real job (industrial designer at GE). Too bad DU kids wasted tens of thousands of dollars on their basket weaving degrees.

Well, now, earlier today we were speculating on what may have been the accomplishments of the round red sodomite.

The accomplishments of these hippie crowds are even less noteworthy.

Completely off topic but I remember a shop teacher who would on the first day of classes, tell the kids they would be learning the art of underwater basket weaving over the year. I remember a few people actually took him seriously.

We had a shop teacher that would send out some poor freshman on the first day to the senior shop classroom to ask the instructor for a "board stretcher".

Another teacher we had sent someone to the shop for some "striped paint".  The shop teacher sent him back, saying he had no "striped paint', but if "plaid paint" would work instead.   :rotf:

Well, here's the picture I was trying to post in the shoutbox that I couldn't seem to get to work.  It describes these DUmmies-in-training perfectly:

I dunno.  Maybe a few of them got laid.

This is a trend I've noticed, this "accomplishments" crap.  DUmmies are forever padding resumes (including Obama's), listing out things in hyperbolic, flowery language, and calling them achievements.  Someone did this for bobolink in a post once, that I found hilarious.  She filled a whole paragraph with bullshit, and called it "Bobolink's accomplishments."  i.e., she explored ways to advocate for the homeless by recruiting others to help with a Powerpoint presentation.

And then just look at that list they put together for Obama.  "Gave a speech, initiated a taskforce," bullshit like that.  It's laughable.

If that's what your resumes look like, DUmmies, no wonder you're unemployed.  Hiring managers can see through all that crap.  "Increased profits by x% by kicking ass and taking names and I can prove it."  That's what gets you in the door.  Of course, that's like kryptonite to you.

This is half right.  Our generation has been ****ed.  Saddled with so much entitlement spending that you cannot touch or adjust without massive bitching and moaning.  Saddled with so much national debt that our nation's credit rating has been downgraded.  Saddled with so much anti-business regulation that jobs are leaving the country in droves.  Saddled with such a large beauracracy that waste and fraud is the soup du jour.

Yes lady, our generation has been ****ed.  By liberal policies supported by idiots like you.

My boy graduated from high school and got his Eagle Scout last year and started college. He is still in school and works part time at the commissary bagging and loading groceries for tips. All while most his age are sitting on their asses in front of the computer.

I always found it so hard to push my son to be responsible from an early age; it would have been much easier to just let him laze around but my intuition said not to do that.  So many friends his age (26) still act like they are teenagers.

I heard some 20-something pinhead who is camped out in LA interviewed on the local radio station yesterday.  He admitted that as a group they don't have a united message but when asked what he is protesting against, he said he is mad that BofA is charging him $35.00 everytime he has an overdraft in his checking account and feels that all debt currently on the books should be forgiven.  Overdrawn checks are a self inflicted wound and he has no one to blame but his idiot self for writing a bad check and debt is an agreement between the borrower and lender.  The lender has met his obligation by lending the money, yet the borrower wants to weenie out on his side of the agreement to pay back the loan.

In regards to these 'tards protesting on the street, there's nothing to be proud of and they all need a hard kick in the ass to bring them back to reality.

I'm glad to see that the members here have done a good job raising their children. However, I do not think that is the general rule. As far as I can see most kids in their twenties do not even know how to change a tire much less the skills to be a positive to American society. They are very much entitled. A friends kid turned down a running in good condition car because, "I wouldn't be seen caught dead in a Hyundai!"  They seem to think that if they come out with an expensive BA degree they should be made VP of some company with a six figure salary. Work their way up just is not in their plans. Get in before the boss and leave after the boss? NOWAY, that's for suckers.

These kids have gotten everything they ever wanted and not worked for it. The saying is true that if you don't work for something, you don't appreciate it. Now they just expect things to be delivered to them on their schedule and that is usually RIGHT NOW. It could also be due to the whole BS of teaching self-esteem to them in the publik edukation system. It is quite a blow when they get in the real world and find out that there are winners and losers.

The kids are victims of our own success and what the publik skools have done to them.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
