Hey, Taverner, if you don't lurk here, maybe one of the DUmp denziens will cue you in to this.  I'll probably have to fight for the first "attempt" to turn your head into a canoe (can't remember who here first used that description, but I'm stealing it here) at, say, 500 yards.  I'd much rather do it face-to-face with a Remington 1100 Magnum.

We were trained to shoot until the threat is stopped but to always be at a low ready because many times there will be a boyfriend/girlfriend/brother/sister/mother/relative/friend that are not going to be very happy you just shot your attacker and you need to have a few left to deal with that situation.

If time permits keep one in the chamber and perform an administrative reload with your spare mag. I know on Sig's they can fire if needed without mag engaged.

Then reload and continue shooting until they stop moving...I always wondered, does that mean moving on their own or is bouncing considered moving?

IIRC, you have a revolver.  If I'm right, practice reloading with a speedloader.  A lot.  (Do this with fired cases, for safety reasons, if you're anywhere but the range.  Once you finish your practice, reload those speedloaders with live rounds.)
