AL immigration law: personal experience

A friend wants to put up a 60' X 70' pole barn on some land he has here in coastal Alabama.
He's called the two Mexican laborers who have worked for him before.
Needs help in pouring the slab and erecting the building.

"Hardest working guys I've ever seen.", he says.
"And you only have to tell them something once."

He can't reach them and they aren't returning phone calls.
I told him they're gone, moved out of state.
Now he's had to postpone his order with the concrete truck.
He is PISSED.
I don;t think he'll ever cote for another repug.

3. Is there some reason your friend can't hire US citizens? NT

10. For all I know, they are citizens. It's a bit more complicated.

Or they may have green cards.
My friend doesn't know (and doesn't really care).

But...they may have family members who are here illegally.
I know some of these folks.
Many times the husband is legal, but the wife or other family members living with them aren't.
I have no idea why, but there it is.

Why not U.S. citizens?
Because these guys work cheaper and they work hard.
They show up on time and stay till the boss says "Go home".

Almost like slaves?

16. The "minimum wage" includes overtime, worker's comp, local, federal taxes, social security match/

deduction, etc.

Put that all together with the hourly minimum of $7.25/hour, and your friend is probably paying less than half of what he'd half to part with for a legal worker.

Maybe they just wanted to move...sheesh! Everything has to be a big stinking drama with these people. Or maybe they have caller ID and don't want to work for a stingy "progressive" who think everyone not white should be noble laborers eternally grateful for their largess.

Had trouble finding anyone willing to work yard work for $15.00 an hour, even when hubby worked along side them, not just supervising, working.[23]

What's with the bracketed numbers?
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Vesta explained yesterday that a moderator whom she respects, gave her a 25-word-per-post limit.  The bracketed number is her word count.

What @#$%ing planet to these people live on?  Republicans pass draconian laws?

Do they ban Girl Scout and Church bake sales?
Do they ban smoking on private property?
Do they enact taxes on fatty foods?
Do they enact hate speech regulations?
Do they raise taxes all the time?
