LSU is going to whoop that butt.
Get the crying towels ready.

We'll see.
I have certain affectionate sentiments about Alabama.
In fact, Alabama's always been my favorite team from the South.
The Bear Bryant effect, of course; Bear Bryant was the best coach, ever, in the history of collage football.
Woody Hayes runs a
very close second, but is behind by a razor's edge.
In the family archives, in one of those dust-topped file-folder storage boxes, lies a personal letter from Bear Bryant to one of my older brothers. I don't recall if it was from December 1978 or December 1979, though.
My brother had accused him of "ducking" Nebraska when bowl match-ups were made, and yes, Bear Bryant was getting a lot of criticism from the news media about ducking Nebraska in favor of a lesser opponent.
The Alabama coach was getting really lousy press on this issue.
In the letter to my brother however, Bear Bryant took the time and trouble to explain why Alabama was playing a team other than Nebraska in a bowl game that year; it's not a short letter, and it's very reasonable.
Now, if Bear Bryant had only confided these things to the press, rather than just to my brother, he wouldn't have gotten so much media flak back in December 1978 or December 1979, whenever it was.
I dunno why he didn't, because the gentleman was very reasonable about why Alabama wouldn't play Nebraska.
