Is DU PRO-SCIENCE, or is it PRO-Pseudo-Science?

It's time to make a decision.

The moderation appears to be promoting pseudo-science. If that's what DU is pushing, then fine. But those who post here deserve to know DU's stance.

1. Well

I know the three administrators are pro-science, and I haven't polled the moderators but my guess is that they're all pro-science too.

That said, I think they made the right decision locking your threads.

2. So locking my threads is fine.

Great.

However, the justification used for locking my threads is not being applied to many pseudo-science threads.

Heck, this morning the Health forum has been spammed by a single individual, pushing all sorts of pseudo-science nonsense from his usual supplement selling site.

I don't even bother to alert on this anymore, because nothing is done about it.

HuckleB, you poor ignorant wretch.

The money, stunado, the money. If someone is successful in hawking his wares on DU and not getting the bums rush from the Admins, it stands to reason the he shares his good fortune with Skinner and his minnie me. Your leader and his minion are apparently OK with that.

That's right.  Unless Skinner and company get their cut, you cannot
pimp stuff on his site.

Oh, I just looked.

HuckleB doesn't have a star.   :rotf:  He shoulda knowed better.

What is HuckleB's pet rock on the alleged "Science" issue, for those of us too lazy to visit DU and research him?

I didn't look to closely when I was there, but apparently there's a primitive who's been pushing all sorts of dietary supplements in the Health forum.  I forget the name of the primitive, but every post has to do with this vitamin or that mineral.....with the link to the site for ordering.

Sorry, Frank, I wasn't clear.

I did gather from context that exactly what you describe is the case with the poster to which HuckleB was drawing a comparison to himself.  However, what I did not gather was HuckleB's OWN alleged 'scientific' point (And I use the term very, very loosely given the Democrats' continually-demonstrated inability to distinguish junk science and their own quasi-religious beliefs from real science), which he was complaining had been locked and/or deleted.
