Shoulder bags have long been a target for thieves. They really should be worn with the strap slung over the head to rest on opposite shoulder and carried toward the front of our bodies and never slung so they rest on the back of the hip or tush. Yet how many of us, particularly with younger kids, don't have it resting practically on our tush, just cause we've either got a kid in our arms or holding on to one?
Some skirts are so short these days....M calls them a "belt". I agree that a woman has a right to wear whatever she wants and SHOULD be safe in that attire, our "rights" will come in second when it comes to what a rapist is after...and wearing those incredibly short skirts in an unsafe atmosphere is just making oneself a much easier target for a rapist than wearing a tight pair of jeans would. Unless a rapist is targeting a specific woman, he's going to go after the woman wearing the attire with the easiest access to what he wants. That's just the way it is.
Cop was doing his job. He's also the same cop(s) that will be crucified in the press for not doing his(their) job when the rapist gets his next victim.
Thank You Deb, it gives me the horrors to go to the mall and see young teen girls wandering about in clothing that catches the eye of all males from 14 to 80 years old. Then check out the early 20 something, that bounce about with no bra in almost see through shirts, have to ask why they are wearing these clothes--yes they have the right to do so but they become bait for the monsters.
Strange thing about society, we woman can dress in anything we wish and by law not be harmed for doing so. Yet the girls have no idea that human nature can and will kick in at times.
Idiot woman that allow their children out of the house wearing next to nothing, a ton of makeup, and yell bloody murder when some maladjusted male grabs their 12 year old.
I am one of the lucky females that had a father that stopped me from leaving the house wearing skimpy clothes as a teen, -----as he told me-----I was young once upon a time and at my age know how men think. Dad was a 20+ year old veteran in the navy as a Chief Bosun's mate---he had seen it all.
Never forgot that and today when I see females setting themselves up as bait for the monsters or even normal males--they may be drunk or on drugs or just perverts, it gives me the creeps to see my granddaughters out there in public dressed like a hooker. I have jacked up my daughter many times over this but with the gift cards at the holidays or birthdays they sneak off and buy what they wish.
Hell the perverts grab on most anything of any age to get their rocks off, one of these monsters will zero in on someone for their own reasons no matter what they are wearing, age or sex.
Where does responsibility come in here and common sense. When there is a dangerous pervert running about, one does not allow their kids to wander about alone after dark wearing clothing that shows off their body. Yes the law says the kids have that right to do so, so do all people, but what good does the law do for parents that have missing children, the law is no help for the woman that turn up ---Gone.
The law may find and jail these monsters but what good does that do for a dead victim or their family.
My eldest daughter caught the youngest daughter at 16 wearing an almost see through shirt. She lit into her big time. You she said will not wear that shirt around my husband or my sons. Then oldest daughter came to me and to make it even worse she went to her Grandmother. What fun for me as I was not aware the 16 year old even owned that shirt.
Then a few weeks later I went to the mall and saw kids younger and older prancing about in the same shirt
it is the fads the kids get into that to be one of a group that make parents bang their heads.

Where are the rights woman have when they are dead, injured, raped or just caught the eye of a monster???
