OBAMA: "Mr. Boehner. Mr. McConnell. Help us rebuild this bridge! Help us rebuild America!"   Updated at 4:48 PM

What is Congress waiting for? Why is it taking so long? Now, the bridge behind us just happens to connect the state that’s home to to the Speaker of the House with the home state the Republican leader in the Senate.

Now that’s just a coincidence. It’s purely accidental that that happened. (Laughs)

But part of the reason I came here is that Mr. Boehner and Mr. McConnell, those are the two most powerful Republicans in government. They can either kill this jobs bill or they can help pass this jobs bill. <…> There’s no reason for Republicans in Congress to stand in the way of more construction projects. There’s no reason to stand in the way of more jobs.

Mr. Boehner. Mr. McConnell. Help us rebuild this bridge! Help us rebuild America! Help us put construction workers back to work! Pass this bill!

The DUmmies really eat this shit up.
It's like they think if only congress would hand out blank checks that bridges will get built the next day.
You would think they would know the environmental regulations that they champion won't allow them to just build a bridge.
What if some endangered gnat is living in that area?

They would rather be in charge of a ruined bridge than have to share the success of a working bridge.

2. More like this, please

Call them out on specifics. Call them out often. Call them out in front of their own people. But call them out, and keep calling them out. Despite the nonsense rhetoric of the nitwit brigade currently trying to run this country, we elect people to government to do things, not to sit around plotting their next political victory so they can go on Fox and crow about how they ****ed over another 10 million citizens.

The poor DUmmies believe that shovel ready jobs will work this time.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Since 2007 the democrats have been doing there impersonation of Sherman's march to the sea. Maybe they shouldn't have burned all the bridges behind them.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

The only problem is that the bridge Obama chose to highlight is in good repair. In fact, the problem with it is that it sees more traffic than it can handle.  That problem is being addressed as a new bridge is already in the works to be built alongside the existing one.  Obama chose it as a backdrop strictly for politics, it bridges Ohio and Kentucky, two states whose congressman provide much opposition to Obama's policies.

I want to see all the bridges fixed by the last 800 billion before I send out a penny for more of the same.

So the MORON in Chief stands in front of a bridge that he claims is going to collapse at any moment, but behind him big trucks are streaming across it the whole time.

God save us from this idiocy, he can't become the 1st black ex-president soon enough.

(Hi DUmmies, figured out who I am yet? I know you're working on it)

My Old Man was a Chicago Republican until the day he died.

Then he became a democrat.

Would they be as excited about replacing the bridge if,

a.  all enviromental studies were waived.

b.  if the jobs were open to non-union bidding.

c.  if the bids went out asking for 24/7 construction so the project would be done in 1 year vs. 3

d.  Only American citizens were allowed to work on the project.

Somehow, I think the excitement would be a bit muted.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

So where next will Obama show up, he could head to Detroit and claim he is going to rebuild this city on" Rock and Roll."

So what did he do in Chicago to rebuild the slums and get people off welfare????  Lots of bridges in Chicago that needed fixen 10 years ago.

This is becoming a tragedy that is some how dark humor for us Americans.   Kind of reminds me of John Wayne Gacey, a Clown that had everyone laughing until he killed them.

 Why is the bridge ruined?

Lurking DUmmies, I thought Oblahma has "shovel ready jobs" for everyone. So the question IS valid. Why is it a runied bridge?

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Smartest president in the history of the universe doesn't know that there is a second  bridge already in the planning phase (will be done in 2015) with an opening date in 2021.  This kind of piss poor information/propaganda on the small things really concerns me if something big comes up at 3 am.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Obama: "Mr. Bohener, Mr. McConnel, HELP US REBUILD THIS BRIDGE!" Leads to another round of golf at Congressional.

There are no American tanks in Bagdad.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
