There will be a special election in Linn Co, IA, that will determine the balance of the state senate on November 8. The Democratic Party candidate will likely be Liz Mathis.

Branstad was successful in getting the Dem state senator from that district to accept an appointment to the Utilities Board.

He's creating gridlock and doing a Hail Mary pass so that Dems are neutralized in this state. Iowa could use some attention right now.

The skidmarked underwear primitive's always been one of my favorite primitives, the way she's always been so unhappy, so discontented, about things.

I've never been exactly sure what her problem is, but suspect it's that she expected life to turn out different than how it actually turned out, and so's melancholy about it, about what should have been, instead of what's actually been.

Best to have as few expectations and hopes as possible (it's impossible to have none), and to take life as it comes, rather than getting all worked up because life doesn't conform to one's plans.

I'm always surprised that Iowa, so close to the sensible Dakotas and Nebraska, and so remote from the insanity of Cook County, seems to be sliding more and more into the moonbat category. Does the political sewage from Minnesota, which is also inexplicably a moonbat stronghold, ooze down into Iowa?

I'm not sure where the crazy in Iowa comes from.

Iowa at one time was one of the most-reliably red states.

It seemed to have started changing around 1972.

I think it's long past time for Iowa, like Vermont, to return to its roots.

The skidmarked underwear primitive lives very close to the Mississippi River, the eastern side of the state, and her husband works in a union job in a manufactory around there.  And so then, perhaps the Rock Island-Moline-Davenport area?

I'm sure a town like Des Moines has substantial slums that can be counted in the democrat column, but I've also wondered if maybe the moonbats have purchased a lot of corn belt votes by means of the ethanol scam. The ethanol scam guarantees corn prices will remain at an artificially high level, as long as enough anti-industry moonbats are in power to keep it going.

If I were planting thousands of acres in corn, I would be a strong supporter of the "peak oil", "sustainable energy" wackadoodles.

I would too, except combines run on diesel, not alcohol, and diesel ain't that cheap.
