Also, retired people earning very little money on their stock also pay 15% on their capital gains income, want to raise taxes on seniors DUmmie?

With DUmmies it's always feelings, they never think of unintended consequences. In their lust to stick it to "the man" they don't think about how this will affect seniors. Also the drumbeat of end the Bush tax cuts, if Obama really did that their own taxes would go up. The will not acknowledge that they got a tax cut under Bush and they expect that only the people who make more than them should have their taxes raised.

I have never seen a larger group of unthinking people congregated in one spot than i have at DU.

I'm convinced the DUmmies would happily live in filth and starve to death, just as long as the rich are brought down with them.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

It isn't wealth redistribution, but misery redistribution that they want.

Remember the old story of the goose that lays golden eggs?
Kinda, sorta appllies here, doesn't it?
I'm pretty happy to keep feeding that goose to get that egg.
DUmmies, not so much.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

You'd never get them to agree to that. It would demolish the democrat party.  It would also mean the IRS would be much smaller (well except the health care division) thus saving the citizens more money.

Cindie

Oh, I agree. A flat tax program would solve far too many problems, at the expense of those who are paid to make them. If, for example, there was a federal flat tax of 10%, it becomes a matter of moving a decimal point one place to determine what you owe, then subtract or add any bonuses or penalties from/to the bottom line. Easy, and fair.

But not in the primitive's eyes...

They feel that since a loaf of bread will cost the same if one is rich or poor, buying that bread has a far greater impact on one who earns minimum wage than on a millionaire. And that's why the wealthy need to pay more taxes, so the government can level out the 'paying field' (heh) by subsidizing that loaf of bread for the poor person.

I like the idea of a flat tax, what the libs don't understand is, if tax rates are reasonable then people would prefer to just pay the reasonable amount rather than try to find ways to get out of paying as much as they can get away with, it wouldn't be worth the time and effort.

Arthur Laffer had a book published a couple years ago and hit the talk show circuit shortly after.  He claimed that by doing away with every deduction and "loophole" in the tax code, the IRS could still retain their multiple-tiered "progressive" brackets while lowering the marginal tax rates below what the Bush tax cuts were and STILL bring in more revenue than what Obama could legislate on his own.

I'll believe one Arthur Laffer before I listen to a hundred thousand liberals, especially the ones posting at Democrat Underground.

Yay, that's the way to get fair and balanced news.  Avoid all links that may not correspond to your way of thinking!   :loser:

DUmbshits THINK?!?!?!?!

Nope.  Not without some serious evidence.  I'll never believe it.  :bs2flag:

You don't need to be convinced, some have come right out and said so!  One said, "I don't care.  As long as there are no more rich people."  A squalid ditch was just fine with her.

Sorry, DUmmie, I don't happen to think that's in my best interest, so whatever it is you're for, I'm fighting against.
