cali (1000+ posts) Sat Sep-17-11 04:37 PMOriginal message I gotta ask: What's the point of holding this Wall Street Protest on a Saturday? Wouldn't it be more effective to hold it during a week day?
ixion (1000+ posts) Sat Sep-17-11 04:39 PMResponse to Original message 1. I think they were looking to start on the weekend for momentum's sake it's supposed to continue on for a couple months...
RZM (1000+ posts) Sat Sep-17-11 04:42 PMResponse to Original message 2. Probably many protestors plan to stop by, express themselves, and then go home Easier on a Saturday if you have a M-F job. I'm sure some will stay for a while, though I'm skeptical that this will turn into a long-term campout. We'll see though I guess.
myrna minx (1000+ posts) Sat Sep-17-11 04:44 PMResponse to Original message 3. Why not? Some folks aren't able to take time off during the week days. The Sunday Morning Talk shows are tomorrow - while we're routinely ignored by the media, it could be a topic of interest. etc.
Firebrand Gary (1000+ posts) Sat Sep-17-11 04:46 PMResponse to Original message 4. It's easier to bury the story during the week.

Manifestor_of_Light (1000+ posts) Sat Sep-17-11 05:25 PMResponse to Original message 8. All the flyers said "Bring Tent" -- so I guess they are gonna camp out until they get busted.

"The nation that couldn’t be conquered by foreign enemies has been conquered by its elected officials" odawg Free Republic in reference to the GOP Elites who are no difference than the Democrats
One wonders how many of those protesters are trust fund kiddies, whose affluence from Wall Street makes them able to afford to play around?
I hope at least a few hippies try to pitch their tents. It should make some good television when they start trying to drive their tent stakes into the pavement.
