Hmmmm, this hasn't happened before during my tenure here that I can remember. Quite odd.
It was done on purpose, so as to lighten traffic while this other issue's being dealt with.
Obviously it's not water-tight, but it's reasonably water-tight.
The first clue I got was when I checked "users online" and found just about every "guest" was "viewing portal," meaning they were at the front page and getting no further.
Then I got a personal message from a prominent member of freerepublic, charles henrickson of the
DUmmie FUnnies, who registered this morning because as a "guest" he was finding the DUmpster not available to him.
Finally, I noticed there's a lot of members here known to be from Skins's island who, instead of just lurking as "guests," were having to sign on using their little-used accounts here.
So then I inquired.
There's more brainpower working on this, than what'd been involved with the Manhattan Project of the 1940s; I'm sure it's going to be cleared up.....and in the meantime, be appreciative that they're allowing conservativecave to remain open, whereas usually the practice is to say "sorry," and shut it down while a problem's dealt with.
So kudos to them.
