The Left Are The Reactionary
« on: September 09, 2011, 08:00:10 PM »
The left of today like to call themselves "progressives" or "liberals", which is in many ways a misnomer. The left is usually the "revolutionary", while right is "reactionary". The left today is the "reactionary", while right is "revolutionary". Here is why I think that.

When I look up the definition of liberal, here it is.
lib·er·al   [lib-er-uhl, lib-ruhl]  Show IPA
adjective
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
2. ( often initial capital letter ) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
3. of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism.
4. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
5. favoring or permitting freedom of action, especially with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: a liberal policy toward dissident artists and writers.
6. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
7. free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: a liberal attitude toward foreigners.
8. open-minded or tolerant, especially free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.
9. characterized by generosity and willingness to give in large amounts: a liberal donor.
10. given freely or abundantly; generous: a liberal donation.

Do any of these definitions fit? Let's see.

1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
The left does not like change or reform, they want to maintain status quo.

2. ( often initial capital letter ) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
How is the left progressive when they want to maintain the status quo?

3. of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism.

4. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
The left seems to hate individual freedom.

5. favoring or permitting freedom of action, especially with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: a liberal policy toward dissident artists and writers.
The left does not tolerate dissent for the most part.

6. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
Obama is more a monarchy.

7. free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: a liberal attitude toward foreigners.
Everyone is bigoted to a certain degree and that has little to do with politics. The worst kind of people are the ones who say they are not prejudiced, but they are.

8. open-minded or tolerant, especially free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.
There are people on both sides who are closed minded, but the left seems more closed minded.

9. characterized by generosity and willingness to give in large amounts: a liberal donor.
The left is less likely to donate to charity.

10. given freely or abundantly; generous: a liberal donation.
Same as above.

Left
-Want to maintain the status quo.
-Want to continue spending and spend even more.
-They are resistant to change and even fear it.

Right
-Want to change the status quo.
-Want to cut spending and government programs.
-They want change.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
-Napoleon Bonaparte

Allow enemies their space to hate; they will destroy themselves in the process.
-Lisa Du

The left considers themselves to be liberal and progressive, because they believe in progressive taxation where the poor pay nothing and the "rich pay all.  They left considers themselves liberals because they believe in taking liberally from the "rich" and giving very liberally to themselves.

That is why they call themselves "progressive liberals".
