Apocalyptic GOP is dragging us to civil war
 Had a friend send me this article by former Republican staffer Mike Lofgren under the subject line, "Informative reading for tonight's Republican showcase." I'm probably late in seeing it, but Lofgren's piece raises fascinating and terrifying questions about the future of our political system and the increasing possibility that we are headed toward something like a civil war, or a constitutional crisis.

Lofgren, in describing the reasons for his defection from the Republican party, describes a Republican camp that increasingly acts not like a traditional peacetime political organization, but more like an apocalyptic cult or one of the authoritarian movements from early 20th century European history.

In particular, the insane decision to turn the once-routine procedure of raising the debt ceiling (Lofgren notes it was done 87 times since WWII) into a political crisis revealed that the GOP party mainstream had sunk to the level of terrorism – holding our economic system hostage in exchange for political concessions.

Exactly, it got out of hand, and more people have been paying attention, so it is now a huge problem. It has nothing to do with what color skin 0bama has, it has to do with the numbers, after so many zeroes at the end of a number people start to get worried.

Note the bolded text. The inside scoop on the GOP becoming Nazis is from a "defector" from the Republican party! Defector? People change parties all the time. Now suddenly we have defectors.

If the GOP was really like the authoritarian movement from the early 20th century (read: Nazis), then why isn't this defector dead?

I feel this is going to be the Rat theme from now on. The GOP is some bizarre menace that threatens us all, and only the Rats can save us. Hoffa said the Republicans are at war with the middle class. Biden calls us terrorists and hostage takers. All sorts of democrat proxies are sprouting up to call us names.

It will ultimately be ineffective, but we have two solid years of mudslinging to endure, and this mud isn't aimed at politicians...its aimed right at conservative voters and anyone who will stand up to the regime.
