Stormed out of AA meeting today because of a racist bigot.

We were having a big book study in the back, and there were about 10 of us in a small room. The topic lead to discussions that were all over the place. An older women started her discussion off about how she prays for 45 minutes every day for herself, family and "my country". Then started rambling about how she was making a left hand turn with 2 lanes and switched lanes (her fault) and when the arrows turned green her husband wondered aloud why the truck in the other lane wasn't going. Sounded like she was blocking him to me. She proceeds to say "Because he's Mexican and probably an illegal immigrant and doesn't want to get a ticket." Several people in the group laughed. I stayed for a few seconds, picked up my book and purse and slammed that door so ****ing loud on the way out. I was walking to my car when another woman from the group followed me and was really sweet and encouraged me to go back in, but I went home instead.

Have a drink. You'll feel better.

And the drunken MLKs come out of the woodwork:

Good for you.

BTW, I have stormed out of many AA meetings because of idiots. But I kept going back.

6. Don't you love people like that? Completely miss the tenants of the

program, its foundational rules. Next meeting I would pull her aside and absolutely confront her, tell her how she sounded when she said that, etc.
I don't think you get to say" blood libel" after you accused a Jewish Congresswoman of wanting to put your Christian child in front of a "death panel."

Well, you know how it is. When you get older it takes longer and longer to sober up.

To the extent that a single, questionable act of "bigotry" completely derailed a DUmmy from staying in a room to help his own cause, I think this one is true.

Now what would Willie Boy ever be doing at an AA meeting?  Isn't that for people who want to stop drinking?

I'll wager RiffRaffRandall doesn't have a drinking problem at all, just crashes AA meetings for the whiny huggy social scene and maybe pick up a man-date.

9. I don't blame you
 Not one bit!

I was staying at a hotel and there was a huge wedding going on. This woman was drunk and talking about all of the "darkies" living in the region as she put it.

I called her a racist and asked her if she'd like to be remembered as such when she is dead and gone. It embarrassed the hell out of her and yes, she did shut-up after that.

Charming.  I wonder if it wasn't a 95 year old Southern lady, not drunk at all, just not hip with the current lingo.  (In my area, "colored" is used all the time).

Back in the 50's, a lot of blacks left from around here and went north where evrything was supposed to be better. The "good ones" that left didn't stay long, a year or two and they were back down here. They said things down here were better than up north. Don't take that as meaning it was great down here, just better than what they found up north.

The true racists are those lily white liberals in the upper Northeast and the Upper Northwest that only occasionally come into contact with people of color.   They are fine to spew their venom about how they are not racists because everything is fine in their neighborhood.

My mothers sister married a Yankee. They lived in Rhode Island. He loved to tease his liberal neighbors with "racial things". :rotf:

Ah hell, I'll take the time to 2-finger type one of his jokes on the neighbors.

It was in the early 60's when the race riots and marches were going on down here but "NOT" in Boston yet. One night he got in a heated argument with his neighbors. He tried to explain that they just didn't know exactly what the southerners were dealing with down here. There were no blacks at all in the little town they lived in. His neighbors thought blacks should be allowed to buy a house anywhere they wanted to.

The next morning 2 black women rang his door bell and wanted a donation for a church they were trying to build in another town. They had a car load of small kids in the car. He saw his chance...he was a devilish fellow :rotf:... He invited them in for tea/coffee and something sweet. He told them to let the kids play in the back yard. The kids were climbing in his apple trees, pulling apples, throwing apples and breaking limbs out of his trees all the while screaming and yelling at each other. He told the women that there was no use to knock on any other doors in the neighborhood because everyone living there was racist. He gave them some money and sure enough, they took his advice and left the area.

He said that the whole time they were there, his neighbors were peeking through the curtains and blinds. As soon as they were gone, his phone started ringing with his neighbors wanting to know what those "N******" were doing over there. He told all who called that they had changed his mind about blacks and he was selling his house to the two black women. They went berserk. :rotf:

It was months before his neighbors would talk to him again. He would tell that story and die laughing. He said it was well worth the money he gave them but did hate all the damage to his apple trees.

Because of the distant between us and them, I never got to see much of him. He was one fun loving fellow. Fit right into our crazy family.

That typifies the easy standards they apply to others, but all hell breaks loose if they were to actually confront it in their backyard.  That is the problem with liberals, it's fine for everyone else.  Great story analogous to the real problem.  When encroached upon, the liberals take their liberal values to another lily white neighborhood or suburb they create and then proceed to destroy that too.  They are doing it in Vermont and other states, because they can't run far enough just going around the corner.  They want to get away from things and they bring it right with them with everything they do.  They are truly the real racists and they are hidden behind their cloaks of piety in the circumstances they reside in.

that is like STEP ONE

The DUmmy 12 Step Program

Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - that our lives had become unmanageable. We blame George W. Bush, Goldman Sachs, Ralph Nader, and freeper trolls.
Step 2 - Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. And by Power, we mean long, think, meaty beams of white light.
Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God. But God doesn't exist, so we either substitute Gaia or some other bullshit and move on.
Step 4 - Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. And we find that we are the arbiters of all morality, although we reject all that "family values" freeper shit.
Step 5 - Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. Which is pointless, because we're never wrong.
Step 6 - Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. If there were any, we mean.
Step 7 - Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings. From RethugliKKKans, anyway.
Step 8 - Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. But only if they're Democrats.
Step 9 - Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Unless they're Repigs.
Step 10 - Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. To the DU gay mafia.
Step 11 - Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out. More meditation than prayer, because who would we be praying to?
Step 12 - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Which means we have to assume everyone is as ****ed up as we are.

Is there a 12 step program for anger? The DUmmie needs to start with anger management because there is something deranged and violent in the DUmmie's psyche.  It isn't the booze's fault.

The real story is part of DUmmy fantasy 101.

Point, the DUmmy admits he was at an AA meeting. Why would any proud proponent of legalized weed go to an AA meeting?

Answer, a Court ORDERED he be there. His license is likely gone too.

Conclusion: He stormed out of a court ordered rehab meeting. What city does he live in? maybe we could alert the court. WE COULD SEND A DUMMY TO JAIL!

My home group is in a pretty red area, and we have all sorts of AAers drop in.  We have all colors, genders, professions, sexual orientations, and whatever wlse one can think of.  No one has ever "stormed out" of any of our meetings, and there's been some interesting stuff said.  No racist stuff, though, at least in the meetings I've been to (and I've been to four a week for two years).

If anyone had ever said this in one of our meetings, some of us would talk to the person afterwards and set them straight, if not say something at the time to the person.

Said DUmb****, if it let this incident chase them out of an AA meeting, probably did go out and get drunk.  Or is headed that way--notice how said DUmb**** didn't mention anything about maybe finding another meeting to go to . . .
