israel/palistine statehood question.

my initial reaction is if palistine becomes a UN nation, (given borders would have to be agreed to) wouldnt this add to isreal's sovereignty also. they would have and actual enemy with which to declare war, if they are still getting attacked.

If Israel has incoming I don't think they are going to bother waiting around on someone else's approval to retaliate.

Problem is the head movers and shakers at the UN are Enemy's of Israel.    Do we really think Israel would be given a fair shake if they join.   

Put it this way, if you found yourself at a KKK meeting and look about, how many black faces would you see.????

It's largely meaningless in practical terms.  Although most of the Israelis would disagree, in the long term it could actually be a modest advantage for them diplomatically with the rest of the world (Besides the US, which is more or less committed to backing them no matter what they do, for reasons that are unique to the US) because it would free them of the paradox of being an occupying power for the past 45 years, which has been an awkward problem morally and politically given their own original demand for self-determination, self-determination being one of the cornerstones of the UN Charter.  They would have to clearly include territory as Israel or exclude it as separate sovereign territory instead of trying to play both ends of the court.

But this administration, with the pretender leading the way, has trashed much of that support.

I know, but if he gets back in, there will be irreparable damage to our relationship with Israel.

but back to your UN being unfriendly to isreal. we need to use that fact to call out their hypocrisy.

she was saying you cant trust the UN if it is made up of anti-isreal states, just like the black population cant trust the KKK.
i would rather have seen a different metaphor like "the new black panther party should not be able to start the NAAWP"
