Why are there no women polygamy leaders?
« on: April 27, 2008, 10:11:48 PM »
other than the obvious that no woman would want two men....
why hasn't some woman in the middle of nowhere set up house with five or six men?  a remote area, say about two hundred miles from the nearest Walmart, in a lush valley on top of the mountain range..
hmmmmmmm

Because it is called "polyandry" and drains men dry.

It wouldn't make any sense.  It would be like having five gas jets for one oven.  Pointless, to say the least.

In addition, the idea goes against human nature and would be completely without order.  It would be like putting a barnyard chicken in charge of a barn full of cats.

Try as we may to fool ourselves to make the PC crowd happy, the reality remains that men and women are not biological, physical, or emotional equals.

I know! I know!

Corinthians, 14:34-35:  "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."

Ever hear of the Alpha Male term?

It simply wouldn't work with humans.

my theory on bigamy has always been that the church forbids it "No man shall serve two masters"
but it is an intriguing thought....

remember the Lee Marvin/Clint Eastwood movie, Paint Your Wagon?

Because women have to be in the mood...men just have to be in the room.

Actually, while seemingly rarer, I have heard of at least one woman polygamist in the last ten years.  Somewhere in Florida, I think.

Ploygamous cults tend to increase in numbers for kind of obvious reasons.  There is kind of an obvious choke point in the growth of a polyandrous cult.

L'il Johnny and l'il Suzy were playing in the backyard together.

"I have a GI Joe action figure," l'il Johnny announces proudly.

"Oh yeah, I have a Malibu Barbie," retorts l'il Susie.

"My GI Joe has a jeep."

"My Malibu Barbie has a Corvette."

Not to be outdone l'il Johnny drops his pants. "I've got one of these."

L'il Susie hikes up her skirt, "Well, I've got one of these and with one of these I can get as many of those as I want."
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I'm busy enough bossing around one husband!!!! :-)
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
