I have been in touch with him, and yes he was banned. It does not look like he was caught in the spam filter...

He did tell me what he posted, but he did not give me permission to talk about it.

I will email him tomorrow and ask if it's OK if I do that.

Now, he is on facebook, as am I.

For those of you already there, send me a message over there, and I will tell you who he is.

For anyone wanting his email, let me know, and I will ask him.

I am very upset about this, and I'm doing all I can to get him reinstated. However, this usually doesn't work...

Regarding MFM

I have no idea how much the mods interact with the general relationships on DU but if MiddleFingerMom was TS'd it has to be some kind of terrible mistake. Jim's been one of the most warm, upbeat and utterly inoffensive people on an awfully contentious website that I've ever known. Rumor has it that he posted something homophobic. I know him and it's just not in him, believe me.

In addition, Jim's spent most of the summer in hospital and trying hard not to die, with the support and anxiety of all of the Lounge almost literally holding him, and us, together. Now that he's home I think it would be genuinely bad for his still tenuous recovery to be exiled from the only people he has. And we ARE the only people he has--no other hospital visitors, no one at home.

In a liberal democracy we look after one another. Jim is one of us, is well loved, and I respectfully request that he be resurrected.

I would think that if you intend to do sarcasm effectively it helps if either you or your audience has a smidgen of a sense of humor. While DU is fun to laugh AT, I'm not sure that qualifies as them having a sense of humor.

They should ask nadin about both humor and sarcasm. As a matter of fact, maybe they should check with nadin about everything.

I can't tell you; however having spent a long time reading MFM's post's I think anyone with an IQ over room temperature could probably have looked at whatever he posted and found the humor.
This is just another questionable TS as far as I am concerned, and considering those who have been TS'd on questionable grounds over the last few years, I am more then happy to make up my mind not contribute any more cash to DU.
