Here's what I don't get - I am intereviewing for a Scandinavian company

Their laws require that they offer all of the benefits to their foreign employees that they offer back home. This includes 6-8 weeks of paid vacation a year, top of the line medical benefits (and supplemental benefits to employees in countries with health care,) paid paternity/maternity, and a bunch of other good benefits.

So do American companies do this for their foreign employees? Can I hear a big "noooooooooooooo"!

You know, for all Apple claims to "think different" they sure love their slave labor in China and Vietnam.

Yeah, yeah, some northern European company wants the Taverner primitive to work for them.

Sure.

Uh-huh.

2. Go work for a Scandinavian company if you can!

There are a few here

Although I don't think all Scandinavian countries have this law...Ikea sure doesn't.

9. I recently read here on DU that Target opened in one Scandinavian country, and Target...must provide its employees over there whatever is required by their govt laws, so employees of Target over there, are living a much better life than Target employees over here.

Where in the world is there a country that does not demand that a business provide its employees whatever is "required by law"?

Duh.

3. French companies don't do this.

At least, not the one I worked at a few years back.

11. Foxconn is buying millions of robots to replace the people that assemble the Apple (and many other) products. I am actually OK with that, I would rather have robots doing mindless tasks anyway.

I believe him.  IKEA is a Scandanavian company, right?  I think he applied as a janitor at the local store.

It's probably not Husqvarna or Volvo.

What else does Scandinavia export? Hot white chicks?

Oh, yeah. This one has the ring of truth to it.
The other top candidates for this job are TwixVoy and William Pitt.

Eight weeks of vacation, full medical benefits, for a self-admitted alcoholic intravenous drug addict.
Sounds about right to me.

My Spidey Sense tells me that somehow, someway the Duche is not going to get the job.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Oh, yeah. This one has the ring of truth to it.

Since the top spot's already locked up, an iron-clad grip already on it, the Taverner primitive's now running for the second spot, on the Top Ten DUmmies of 2011.  He's got a lot of competition, but for this spot, he does have at least a chance.
