If it comes down to these 2 in '12, who would you support?

I would pick Romney because he has an impressive business record and turned around finances in MA while Perry sat around for the past decade and took credit for the Bush policies in Texas.

I'd rather have Perry. He's made mistakes, we all have. He also owned up to those mistakes. His record on creating a pro-growth business climate speaks for itself.

(just off the top of my head)...

Reasons why I don't want Romney:

Romneycare (Obamacare must be repealed, and we don't need someone there who implemented something similar in his state and wouldn't renounce it)

His beliefs on global warming (what is the correct temperature of the earth anyway?)


Reasons why I don't want Perry:

His beliefs on illegal immigration

Sure, neither of them are perfect, but given the choice here, I'd go for Perry.

I'm not a religious guy and Perry is a little too heavily into religion for my taste in rational, analytical leadership; I do give him points for making headway with tort reform though.  I have grave reservations about Romney supporting any of the GOP base principles beyond simply fiscal/monetary issues. 

I think they are both bullshit artists of the first order, but between the two, I'd go with Perry.

I went undecided for now.  I need to learn more about Perry before I render a judgment between these two.

Either is better than Obama.

Except for one thing -- unless Perry is a complete RINO, taxaholic, turd-in-the-punchbowl, it would be very, very difficult to be worse than Romney.

I'd seen Romney operate 10 years ago. He's a complete plastic personality and first-class liar.

We need a "lightning struck me in the head" smiley.  I just put Perry as well.  DAT, Perry's religious leanings have never been on the radar until recently.  I suspect there may be another motive involved.   :whatever: 

The things I know about Perry, aren't nearly as bad as what I have heard about Romney.  But I really hope I don't have to vote for Perry either.

I blame the MSM and the left for highlighting his religion.  Much the same way that they ignored Reverend Wright and his connection to Obama.

I agree.  Granted, we knew he was a professed Christian, but this religious fanaticism is a bit over board.  There is a whole SLEW of stuff that people could throw at him and stick. This really is a non-issue being blown up out of proportion.

I think half of it is the media overplaying it to undermine Perry, but the other half of it is him overplaying it to sell himself to evangelicals and other Social Conservatives.  It's not a show-stopper for me, and I would be a lot more comfortable voting for him than Mitt. 

Something about Mitt just doesn't sit well with me, he seems to have no commitment whatsoever to civil liberty issues I care about, and they're more important to me than the fiscal ones on which he wants to solely focus.  Frickin' Red China has a great sole fiscal focus but dismal civil liberties.  He isn't reassuring me on that score at all so far.

Perry by a long shot. Romney is a RINO thru and thru and the father of Obamacare. No contest when it comes to job creation. Romney oversaw the pathetic job creation (47 out of 50 states) in MA while Gov. That will not cut the mustard. Perry #1.

Didn't like Romney last time, and don't like him any better this time. Something about him bugs me. There's something about him that makes him seem phoney to me.

im not sure ive heard his immigration beliefs. has it been reported alot? i know almost nothing about perry because up here in MN/IA land, all the publicity (at least up until recently) went to bachmann.

It was music to my ears yesterday when Steve Moore said on Kudlow's radio show that Rick Perry has been consulting heavily with Arthur Laffer, and is re-reading everything he can find on Reaganomics.
