My cat hid for the first 3 days I had her, now she cries if I close a door between us and greets me at the door  :-)  She is a snuggler.

My son married a woman that was scared to death of cats, she Had no idea why, just the way she was.

Son loves cats and decided to overcome his wife's phobia by bring home a tiny kitten.  My DIL ignored the kitten until when watching TV the baby climbed up and fell asleep on her bosom.

Today they have 2 cats, no more fear for DIL with her cats but she still is uneasy around my giant Coon Cats.

Cat toys, Son found a on line site and bought for 2 years these Mouse toys that were made of rabbit fur.

Cats loved the things, then for some reason the company replaced the fur with some kind of fabric that the cats ignored.

Son fired off a few Emails to the company about the change and is still looking for rabbit fur toys for his cats.    Darn some people amaze me on the amount of emotion they invest in an Animal.

My cats favorite toy is the dogs they are twice the size of, chase the dogs about, tackle them and drive them nuts.

Actually I like cats. I just know them.

I have one that will follow me around like a dog. She won't have anything to do with anyone but me. My wife asked me why the cat would be vicious around her but almost loving around me. My answer was that I showed the cat that I could be violent too. The first time the cat slapped at me I walked to the other side of the room where she landed after hitting the wall, looked down at her and asked if she wanted to go again. Since that time we've been best buds.

Oreo will jump up on my wife and lay on her.  It's a dominance thing.  If one doesn't put their hand on top of the cat when the cat does this, what the cat thinks is, "I'm dominant over this human."  I've told my wife a few times about this.  She usually puts a hand on top of the cat when Oreo does this.

As for the violence bit, when Oreo hisses at me due to me doing something that she doesn't like, I hiss right back at her--with an open mouth, and my teeth showing.  Oreo gets the message.  She's not "Top Cat."  I am.

Chase her.
Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.

Well.  Someone is being friendly today.

He seems to have filled out a little.  Looks more like a cat and not a walking bag of sticks.

No, not yet.

I didn't share my dinner with him and the claws came out.  Sorry, kitty... wrong move.  Now he's eating out of his own bowl.

It's a little gratifying to know that all that input stuff doesn't result in stinky output. Some of it winds up as meat on the bones.  :cheersmate:

Silly cat.  It acted like it didn't want me to leave this morning.  It started following me around last night.

There's not a whole lot of room to trail someone around here.  It's just a 1BR.

****ing cat hissed at me when I got home.  Tried to keep me from walking into the kitchen.

I moved his food and water to the kitchen earlier this week.

If he's hissing at you, he's feeling threatened for some reason.

Give the little guy a name, Chris, and make friends with him! You know you are going to keep him, so just give in to the inevitable and start lovin' on him. That's all he really wants  - someone to take care of him, give him food and a safe place to live. If you would allow yourself, you will get lots of comfort from him.

He freaks out when I get home, like he forgets I live here after I leave in the morning.  He seems to have relaxed and is playing with my shoelaces now.

He's mostly housebroken.  Other than scaring him with the vacuum cleaner last week, he knows where to go and he does it without any mess.

Maybe it his way of showing displeasure for being left alone.  I know dogs suffer from separation anxiety , cats might too.

It caught and ate a cricket that found it's way inside.

Glad it's trying to earn it's keep.
