coalition_unwilling (1000+ posts) Sun Aug-21-11 10:41 AMResponse to Original message7. The stimulus and bailout measures did 'work' after a fashion, although the stimulus package was too small by a magnitude of two to three times. However, the economy needs more stimulus from government spending right now, not less (in the form of budget cuts, entitlement reforms or austerity programs).Should he fail to make the case for more government intervention via higher spending and pump priming, a harsh judgment awaits Obama, imho. Things have not continued to get better.
Words fail me.
Not me, I have been hearing that crap for months now from lefties, who say the stimulus was just too small.
economy needs more stimulus
Well, I could understand it if we had a good reason. An alien invasion, for example.
Maybe this is why no one is going to primary Obama. There is no way to overcome the economy.
= send me a government check
