I can't say I didn't have it coming, but I think it was an idiotic move on their part since I know their dirty secrets and how they're screwing their clients. I'm squealing like a pig and snitching on their asses.

1. Did they do anything illegal?

If so, I think it needs to be reported.

Sorry about the job.

and plenty more that was unethical. I've made a list, I'm bringing it to my unemployment hearing. They think that I'm an idiot.

For one thing, it's common practice to forge/change missing data and add signature "X" marks on checks if we realize after we've cashed them that they're not negotiable to make them so. That's fairly banal compared to what I know...also it's something that they can claim plausible deniability of and pin all responsibility for on branch employees, but they *wink wink nudge nudge* don't discourage the practice. I mention that because it'll piss people off to know it, but not something I intend to use against them. I'm looking to burn the company, not the schlubs in the branch who get paid crap and treated poorly, they're as much victims of the bank as the clients are.

Edit: I should point out that I was not a favorite of management because I refused to do this.

seriously, keep us posted. I want to know how all this turns out. Interesting because you are not in a right-to-work state. Are you filing for unemployment?

7. Getting fired was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

It ripped my guts out at the time, but I was miserable in that job. It wasn't where I was meant to be, and I hated it.

This is a chance for you to find something more fulfilling. Grab it.

Oh, and I hope you make those ****ers pay!

Chances are the only thing DUmmie Chan will probably be grabbing in the near future is his twig and berries, while he whiles away his time on funemployment.

Pretty sure this will end up making you happier in the long run. And have fun screwing them over, I sort of did the same thing at one job after my boss was fired and the others tried to make me leave...

20. ROFL.

What makes it funnier is that of all the people I worked with, like 50 people...3 are Republicans. The vast majority are leftist immigrants.

Our Financial Advisor is a true fiscal conservative with an economics B.A., the guy said "Tax cuts?! We're in the red trillions of dollars and they want to cut taxes and pay for it on credit! Who cuts taxes on credit!!"
Our Auditor is a old military brat and has no use for religious conservatives or teabaggers. She just wants the economy to work and her 401K to stop shrinking.
Our District Manager is the one that fired me and she's the only one who isn't disgusted by the current GOP.

To quote my fellow branch partner: "I never liked the Communists growing up in Santo Domingo, always ranting about hanging the bankers. Now I work in a bank and I love the Communists because they're right and clearly not talking about me."

How many bouncies can you spot this gem?

Unemployment in the District of Columbia is currently 10.4%.  Good luck getting another job any time soon.

An unemployment check in seven days?  It takes more like four or five weeks to get one here.

The only thing with more bounce in it is his checks.

I think I found the bouncy in this...

Drawee Bank Not Required to Examine Checks for Forged Endorsements
By Craig W. Smith, J.D., Author, CCH DEPOSIT LAW NOTES.

As a matter of law, a drawee bank does not have a duty to conduct any review of payee endorsements on checks received from a depository bank.

Remember, there are three primary parties to a check. The person who writes the check, called the drawer. The person to whom the check is payable, called the payee. And the financial institution that maintains the account on which the check is drawn, called the drawee. In addition, the first bank to receive the check for collection is called the depository bank.

the rest at link above..

If I read the above correctly, the bank that the check is drawn on isn't responsible to insure the veracity of a check. If, lets say, a member of BankX cashes a check at a BankX branch from a BankX account, BankX will give them their funds, provided they are available. I can only suppose if the check was rushed and was left incomplete, a BankX employee can complete the check for the member.

I find it telling he calls his former coworkers schlubs too. The superiority complex with no real ammunition to support it I'm sure didn't have anything to do with why he was let go. He works with a bunch of immigrant schlubs (in his words) but they are geniuses because they say something remotely liberal. I've worked and lived on many levels with the 'schlubs' he speaks of from south of the border. Generally, they are very compliant worker bees(ie not leaders) and that's made their assimilation here to being individualistic difficult. But if they think this guy is somehow more special then he actually is, they would most likely just nod their heads in unison with him so as not to rock the boat. He's a moron who reveals pretty handily that he both does not have a clue about the cultural tendencies and behavioral patterns of those people he works with, nor does he seem to have the ethics or integrity to be holding any job where money and figures from money are a part of the everyday routine. Ultimately, it was probably his own ethics that got him in trouble, not the bank's.

So basically all the questionable practices of the bank were okay with the DUmbshit until he was canned (deservedly so by his own admission). Now in a fit of petulance he wants to stir shit on his way out the door.

I've seen this happen a dozen times with lazy, irresponsible, chronic screwups where I work. When their crap catches up with them, usually after a long period of getting away it, and they're finally sent packing, they try to make everyone else, innocent or guilty, as miserable as they are. Color me not surprised that a spiteful, hateful, juvenile little dickhead from the DUmp would pull this.

WTF?  I think the party issuing the checks might suspect fraud in this case.

Not really, I think what he's talking about are checks that are technically defective but that both the payor and the payee actually want to be negotiated as presented.  Everyone is totally fine with the practice unless and until an actual forged check gets presented and processed, and he doesn't sound like he has the goods on any such casees.

If the op was fired for cause (violating company rules or what have you) he/she is not eligible to receive unemployment benefits. At least that is how it works in Florida and if I am not mistaken this is a common regulation in all states.
