Report:  Obama Administration Bows To Chinese Pressure On Taiwan Arms Sales; Will Cost U.S. 16,000 Jobs
Posted by Niccolo Machiavelli Aug 15th 2011 at 11:41 am in Asia, China, Featured Story, Strategy, Weapons

“We are disappointed in the United States.” That’s a sentiment we seem to hear all too often from our allies these days.  A Taiwan Ministry of National Defense official uttered those words to Defense News with word that the Obama Administration will deny his country new F-16 fighters.  As Defense News puts it,  the Obama Administration’s decision came as a result of “bowing to Chinese pressure.”  Instead of the 66 F-16C/Ds that were requested,  the Pentagon is instead going to provide “upgrades” of the current Taiwanese system.

Not too long ago Taiwan was a good ally of the United States. Bambam's changing that.

Maybe Taiwan, Israel and Great Britain can be allies, now that Teh Obamessiah has thoroughly pissed off all three of them?  Hell, I might just join that alliance, too.

We started selling out Taiwan a long time ago, and both parties are up to their necks in it.  But, Obama is the first one to get himself into a position where he can't afford to piss off the ChiComs, instead of being able to make a free and conscious decision one way or the other on a deal like this.
