One thing that has struck me by watching the series is that we've had a lot of mediocre to bad Presidents.

This is one of the beauties of American government. The effect a bad president can have nationally should be limited by Congress, as well as the states themselves in matters where the President & Congress have no authority.

..Which is why liberals hate State's Rights & the Separation of Powers... at least when they are in control of The Executive Branch.

Raven should learn some history.

But then, what are the chances on that one?

It's like these idiots wake up on a new planet every day, and nothing they ever said or did before matters now.

It didn't matter when they said it, it doesn't matter now, and it will never matter, because if you searched high and low all over the internet you'd be hard pressed to find a more palpably disorganized mess of incompetent fools than that which resides over at DUmmyland.

Been gone a few days-I see we've picked up a bit of publicity over there.  C'mon over, DUmmies, we don't bite (even though half of you wish we did :-))

We show the Kenyan a lot of respect.
I, for one, have never called him a jug-eared chimp, so far.

I believe respect is for the Title one has, the person behind the Title has to EARN respect on their own ability and actions.

I hold respect for the Office of the President but the person holding that office has to EARN the respect of their country and the world.

When anyone with a title of any kind be it father, mother, boss, banker lawyer, any seat in Politics causes embarrassment to the Title, cannot function as is required-------I should respect them personally ????

H5, vesta.  You nailed it.

About this "respecting the office" thing.

The maternal ancestress has been around a long time now, and surely remembers when Richard Nixon was president, and how the television celebrity Dan Rather used to razz him.

It's in old Time magazines of the time; the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dan Rather's contempt of Nixon.

Whenever someone argued it was a show of disrespect for the president, Raven's own side counter-argued that respect for the presidency, and respect for the individual holding the office, were too different things--that one could respect the first, but not necessarily the second.

The mother of the Bostonian Drunkard must be getting senescent, if she doesn't remember this.
