IRS Convention 2011 - Las Vegas, NV
« on: August 14, 2011, 11:40:13 AM »
I just wanted you all to know that the IRS is spending three days in Las Vegas for a "convention" at Caesar's Palace this week.  You know, that place Obama forbids people to come to.  It starts this Tuesday and ends on Thursday.

Just scroll down to August 16th.  Aren't you all excited?   :banghead:

Apparently not.  I can't really go into detail, but I can tell you for sure they are not paying for these cars themselves.

We're footing the bill for at least part of those attending the GSA SmartPay 6 day conference as well:

"GSA SmartPay is the Federal Government’s new Credit Card payment program.

It cuts paperwork and gets vendors paid quickly.  With SmartPay, government vendors and merchants are paid within a few days instead of a few months.  Over $16 Billion in goods and services were paid for with GSA SmartPay credit cards last year.  The government alone saved $1.3 Billion in 2002. The savings and benefits to the vendors are immense.

Government vendors may set up with most banks or credit card processors to receive payments using these cards. However, be sure you read "How do I cut costs with SmartPay?" before selecting a processor or even if you already have a processor.

This program replaces the International Merchant Purchase Authorization Card (IMPAC), American Express Travel Card, and the U.S. Government Fleet Services Card (Wright Express). Federal card holders will use the GSA SmartPay program to pay for commercial goods and services travel related expenses fleet expenses."

The federal government should be limited to Hackensack, NJ or Compton, CA for conferences.  Las Vegas?  Hello no.

I scrolled right over that convention.  Whoops.

I think some of our military men & women use some sort of card that says GSA on it when they get cars when they are here on orders.  Those cards stick and I know they are military so I give them even better deals.  As far as that IRS convention, I'm sure it's just the more "important" people who are getting their cars for "free".

Throw in East St. Louis, Oakland, CA, North Charleston, SC, or Dorchester, MA.

Now, that being said, I would be okay with the IRS having their conventions in Vegas--NORTH Las Vegas (how about Balzar Ave., EC?), or Miami, as long as the meetings were all in the Liberty City area.

North Las Vegas works for me.  As long as they don't venture into Las Vegas.
