WE said YES!

Marta and I were both asked just now to run for public office in the next election cycle. I can't tell you the offices until after we file at the end of the month. But we are both taking aim at conservative REPUBLICANS!

Warmest regards,

Steve & Marta

We are going to have to keep an eye on this one. It would be unfortunate if the voters found out that he is a part of the DU community.

Does Omaha elect dog catchers and sanitation workers?

Also, what is the track record for DUmbasses running for public office?  I know of at least one, maybe two.  I can't think of their names, although I'm sure some of the old timers will know.

So far, most of the comments do not exceed five or six words.
Typical back patting sort of thing.

This could be a wallduded candidacy!

I'm sure it's a key race.

The party wouldn't select a winner like DUmmy Steve if it wasn't a really important office that
the democrat party needed a strong campaigner to win.

He's due. He's 0-1, since losing his campaign for union committeeman.

The last DUmbass candidate was a mental case in upstate New York who couldn't get anyone to
sign his petition to get on the ballot for precinct committeeman.

DUmmies run for high office.

I'm not really sure how to take this. I threw my hat into the ring as a candidate for the Jackass Party a few days back. Since then I've started a workout routine where everyday I practice creating Bouncy Tales and practice out and out lying. I've put a lot of work into my candidacy. I'm wondering if maybe Steve knows this and sees that the toast is turning. Maybe he's thinking he'll be able to ride my coattails to fame and fortune, but I'll tell him now that I will NOT endorse him.

The imminent wallduding will make him more likely to win the DOTY polling than public office.

I'll be watching for this, with the advantage of being near "on the ground."

I have no idea the offices, but if they're taking on "conservative Republicans" in Omaha, if it's offices where elections are by district, it'll be one of those McGovern landslides.  If it's offices where elections are citywide, no way in Hell does my fellow Nebraskan have the name recognition and the resources to win.

I think my fellow Nebraskan should take up stamp-collecting or bird-watching instead.

And as a private inside joke, I suspect GOBUCKS will join me in watching for the Muskie moment.

Unless Stevie Wonder is planning to have an extreme makeover ,he's not likely to win. If anyones seen that icture of him and Cindu Loo Who the Ditch Witch then you know what I mean. That picture alone would sink any chance of him getting into office. I too will be watching this one.

If you see our fellow Nebraska pull that Muskie moment, crying on camera, before GOBUCKS and I do, sir, please be sure to post it.

I haven't a chance of spotting that, unless someone posts it on YouTube.

I'm interested to know, though, what high office he will be assuming after the election. U.S. Senate, maybe? Governor of Nebraska?
Douglas County Sheriff? Councilman for some slum ward in Omaha? Temporary Assistant Deputy Democrat Precinct Captain?

And how did the guy who asked him to run keep a straight face?

So the next adventure will be getting petitions signed for a place on the primary ballot. Most likely this is the point where his political career will die.

I doubt if his DUmp affiliation or his emotional photo op with the ditch witch will come into play.

Considering what a useless DUmb shit Steve is, if he ever made it onto the ballot it would be in the role most often played by democrat candidates in Nebraska, electoral cannon fodder.

There's no possiblity of his being involved in a race the democrat party thought they had a chance to win.

Time to get busy and compile a buch of OmahaSteve Postings from the DUmp. As soon as the contest is reconned, get the imflammatory screeds to his Repub opponent. Or the Omaha Herald. They can start by running a couple of ol' Stevie posts in the funny pages.

Especially the series about his hopes, then crashing defeat, in his own union election.

Has ANY DUmpmonkey ever won an election?

There's no possibility of his being involved in a race the democrat party thought they had a chance to win.

I'm trying to figure this out; I haven't done any research yet.

Omaha municipal elections are held in odd-numbered years--mayor, city council, and all that--and it's not likely, this being mid-August, my fellow Nebraskan's running for a city office.

The major state elections--governor, state treasurer, and somesuch--were in 2010, and won't be again until 2014.

And my fellow Nebraskan isn't going to challenge E. Benjamin Nelson for the Democrat U.S. Senatorial election.

The U.S. congressman representing Omaha, Lee Terry (R), has had tough races in the past, but no way does my fellow Nebraskan have the name-recognition or resources to challenge him.

There's some state legislative seats up, of which Omaha, by far the largest city in Nebraska, has many.  But with the re-districting, all (R) (officially, they're non-partisan) incumbents in Omaha are pretty safe.

So that leaves the Douglas County (Omaha) races.

Most county offices are occupied by Democrats.

That pretty much leaves the sheriff (R) of Douglas County.

That's all I can think of right now.

I would have replied sooner, but this really was a complete surprise. I told the DU before we even told our kids. Two of the four still don't know. We were getting ready for a night out with our oldest granddaughter. We left the house right after posting this. We drove up to Fremont to ride the dinner train there: http://www.dinnertrain.net / That kept us out till past midnight. A note to golfers. The train is one of two rail lines that run through the course. The other is the Burlington Santa Fe. Believed to be the only course in the US with two train track hazards running through it.   http://www.fremontgolfclub.org /

These are only local races. But we will do our part to unseat the incompetent (I meant incumbent) office holders. The primary will be next May. It will be a while before we get treasurers and accounts set up. We want to keep this legal. BTW Marta owns one of the most popular web sites in town.

Again, having the strong showing of support here means more to us than you could ever know.

Steve & Marta

According to their website, the candidates we're helping are Steve and Marta Dawes.

So they will run in a democrat primary against some other moonbats, IF enough people sign their petitions to get on the primary ballot.

Throughout the electoral process, I'm sure they will appreciate any wallduding help they can get. They're counting on us.

After all, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

A wallduded election would be a first.

That website is hilarious! Check out the 2004 "Twilight Zone Convention". They took a hundred pounds of pictures to be autographed by at least a hundred F-list celebrities. I swear, she gushes over each one, and there are only two or three whose names I have ever before heard. They're like Trekkies, only far, far worse. Some good shots of the enormous Steve.

They live in Bellevue.

Whoa.

That's Sarpy, not Douglas, County.

Right south of Omaha, where Offutt Air Force Base is.

Sarpy's the third-largest county in Nebraska, after Douglas (Omaha) and Lancaster (Lincoln).

I don't know any political personages from Sarpy County, but I suspect this could be even more interesting than if my fellow Nebraskan were running for something in Omaha.

When I saw the title, I thought the same thing.

He won't be the first.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
