Any (R) candidate but Ron Paul; if he were it, I'd have to leave that part of the ballot blank.

Or maybe not; my own personal priority is to get the Barackalypse OUT of the White House.

I defer to Ballygirl's signature line on this one, Supreme Court being to important.  I picked Bachmann, though.

I'm wavering between Cain & Bachmann, but those are my top three at the moment.

Yeah I kind of feel the same way.  They all have weaknesses for the general election.  Santorum might be OK but career Senators running for President have a pretty horrible track record as campaigners, in both parties.

Me ....I'd rather vote for Jim DeMint....but when I give it some deeper thought, I would perfer he stay in the senate and be a thorn in the democrats side.

Same for Sarah Palin...stay out there giving them hell and heart attacks.

I have no problem with any of the declared candidates thus far except for Newt, Paul, and Huntsman.

Newt is an insufferable ass, Paul is batshit crazy, and Huntsman is a RINO version of Harry Reid.

I went with Herman Cain, with Bachmann as a followup. All the rest are either blatant RINOs, wafflers, wackos, or professional politicians to the point that I can't stand looking at them.

Cain, however, has weaknesses which are sure to be exploited should he win the nomination. He runs as a "problem solver", but what our president should be along with being able to solve problems is have a vision. He also needs to communicate and sell that vision in a way that does not ridicule and insult people (as Barry does), but inspires, uplifts, and challenges them.

I have not had time to look at Perry, though. Texans seem to roll their eyes when discussing him, and that tells me a few things. But I need to look at him more closely, especially if he announces his candidacy at the same time of the Ames straw poll.

Yes, I have. I've heard him say he's a problem solver, over and over and over again -- and I have no doubt he's capable of solving most any problem.

He says he does it by first, understanding the overall issue (done through doing one's homework) and then getting the right people in place to address the issue. Then, Cain asks the right questions to home in on the issue and when that root cause(s) is established, establishing a plan to attack it.

I've not heard Cain speak toward an executive vision as much. Note that I'm not saying he hasn't spoken toward that vision, only that I've not heard it.

I think he's a powerful contender and I'd vote for him -- but apart from quips (good quips) on the order I heard in last night's debate, I'd like to hear him speak of his vision more.
