Tomorrow's Recall Elections in Wisconsin

Like a lot of DUers, I"m watching tomorrow's elections very closely. I don't expect we'll have decisions on some of the races until Wednesday morning, but I'm hopefully optimistic that the results will be good. Optimistic, but still keeping my fingers crossed. A lot of money has poured into this from both sides, but it's going to be the people of Wisconsin, in those particular districts, who will decide whether to go to the polls in large numbers to make their dissatisfaction with what happened in 2010 known. It's also a matter of how many Republicans will go to maintain the current mess. From the perspective of DU, it's hard to imagine that all six recalls won't pass and a Democrat replace the current holder of the seat. However, I know that I'm often surprised by elections, and am concerned about this one.

It's not my state. I can't afford to contribute financially right now, and health concerns have kept me from physically participating. So, I'll be watching the results, since they may be predictive of what might happen in 2012. I'm hopefully optimistic, but not sure how these elections will turn out. Wednesday, we'll know.

Wednesday you will be screaming DIEBOLD DIEBOLD CALL KEIF 11111111!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're a thousand-poster on DU.  You're probably surprised by the sun coming up in the morning, and setting in the evening.  Deal with it.

Toss up at best.  Big disappointment likely for far left socialist types.

And this from a far left blog.  But we'll send some healing white light if it makes you feel better.

So polls really show Dems winning, after Walker's school saving plan actually worked?

I'm sure the people who were beaten up in the 2 riots in the past month will get out and vote, as will their family, friends and neighbors!

Let's be real here. The results will not be known the day after the election. The socialist unionistas are going to bicker and gripe over every little detail, contesting every aspect of the entire process. Maybe we'll know by mid September because Wisconsin elections as of late are not decided at the polls, they are decided in the courts.

Maybe the ones who were at the State Fair. The ones from Riverwest will think they(and society) were to blame for the thugs beating them up and continuing to vote Dem will help make things better.

That's what they've been saying but we'll see what the only poll that counts says.  But there have been a lot of TV commercials showing that either lie outright or really distort the truth.  A lot of money pouring in.  The Simac/Holperin race is in my TV viewing area--but not my voting district.  I'd be interested to find out the per capita dollars being spent on that race.

Something interesting, wouldn't you think if people really were that excited over this election that there'd be more than 1 response to the OP?

I just left Wisconsin this afternoon.  There is not much talk about the recall election.  I only knew about it because of the pathetic commercials on TV.  No signs in yards.  Just nothing.  Most people are probably going to be too high to go out and vote out the "evil repukes" tomorrow.

Yes, he used to be a FReeper at one time.

Self proclaimed supposedly with thousands of posts on FR.  So, he should be ready, willing and more than able to defend Dem policy here at CC.  Most folks grow out of the stars-in-their-eyes notions such as liberal views, but MM regressed with age.  That is unless he's lying and doing some ace trolling there.

I'm betting he is lying. If he was a troll of that caliber, what is he doing on DU?

That's not good news. Low turnout means a socialist victory.

I'm hoping he registers to answer all these questions.  It'd be hard to believe that he doesn't read here.  He took the trouble to post at the Pitcairn site, why not here?

I am in Alberta Darlings' District and voted this morning. It was a good turn out and at 8:30 AM I was the 238th person to vote at my polling place.

Local talk radio is saying the liberals are already prepping challenges to the results with claims of voter disfranchisement.

It's my understanding that three of the elections are in solid conservative districts. The socalists need to take the remaining three and both next week to take control. Is this correct?

No. The GOP recall is this week and the Dem recall is next week.

The recalls this week in the GOP districts are for the most part pretty even politics wise. The most recent PPP/Kos poll pretty much sums up the districts. The district I am in has conservative areas that are balanced out by liberal ones and the polling was about 50/50. Same thing for Hoppers district. The one in La Crosse  is behind in the polling and his district leans left. Harsdorf is leading her opponent in polling and her district leans right.

I think 2 are certain Dem turn overs, 2 are certain GOP held, 2 are toss ups. Next week we may get one.
