Anyone in Boston area or South/Central ME have a spare room to rent for August?

A person I know very well needs a room in the Boston area or Southern Maine to rent for August till he can occupy a seasonal rental on an island Sept 1.

Anyone need an extra $100/week? All he needs is a place to sleep and shower, basically. He's a dad moving closer to his daughters who live in Maine.

No primitive's been at this campfire yet, but I suspect there's a story behind it.

By the way, expect some time soon franksolich's continuing saga, this one "Mrs. Alfred Packer in the dog days of summer."

Notice she didn't include NH with that.  We're not big on welfare leeches here.

I think the omission had more to do with a DUmmy grasp of geography.
And the freeloader looking for a $100 room is more likely Judy herself. Anyone falling for her scam is forewarned.

Around three years ago, a former friend allowed her to sleep in his bonus room for a few weeks, out of charity.

Three years later, he's finally found a way to get rid of her. Grasswire is a lot like Bill Murray in "What About Bob", if she gets her nose under the edge of your tent.

Still no takers.
I kind of figured there might be one or two jump at the chance to get a hundred a week for a basement room.
Perhaps they wised up.
Wait, what am I saying. :mental:

I was just thinking that is a HUGE gap in states. Either in Boston or Maine?
Good for NH cracking down on those welfare leeches. MA is too far gone the wrong way to ever rebound. Especially with that great "HELLCARE" for all" here.

More than 24 business hours without a reply.

She's being swamped with hospitality the way Omaha Steve was when he was looking for a free place to flop
while helping his union brothers vandalize the Wisconsin capitol building.

That's  rassisssist.
Is DUmmie a race?

I'll will be more than happy to let the guy live in the vacant house next to me that I don't own for $100 a week.  If he starts any hobo fires, I'll be forced to call the law in and report him for squatting, though.

Granted, I'm in MO, not ME, but it's closer than he is now, so he shouldn't expect me to put up with any complaining.

Some states have very strange laws when it comes to Visitors or Tenants.

NH for instance, neighbor had  son that was hanging out with some rather nasty friends.  The mother told the sons friends to stay of her property or she would have them arrested.

She was afraid of the kids coming in when she was at work and smoking dope with her 14 year old son.  Her son was a handfull, she even became a bit afraid of HIM.

First step she took with advice from a Lawyer no less, was to get a restraining order against the kids coming anywhere near her, big mistake.  Then she went to the SPCA and got a full grown Rottie that she and I felt was mellow, her and my Rotties got along just great and the big fella soon formed a bond with he and son, never saw on aggressive act from him against any living creature.

Problem was, she was at work, the dog and son at home and his friends show up at the door.  The son invites them in them in, all goes well until one of the friends decides to tease the dog.  All high and stupid, the friend for some reason puts their hands on the son either a friendly arm punch or a small shove and --- well they called an ambulance for the kid.

Outcome,-------------- the son had invited the kids in, the restraining order the Lawyer screwed up by not placing the home and property as a keep away.  Even if the son had been mentioned as a keep away, it was the son who invited his friends in, he as a juvenile that resided in the home
had the right to do so.

Insurance company had a clause that it would not cover the home owner if they had -a long list of dog breeds.

Another neighbor had a Son they could no get to move out and on their own.  They finally got rid of he kid but he came back for 2 nights and now the parents faced a law that he was to be given a 30 day notice before they could force him out of the home.  The kid for revenge broke most every window in the house, trashed what ever he could find.  Problem, their Son swore he did not do the damage or was not at home when it all happend. The kid did all this in the first week and still could live there for another 3 weeks by law.

Homeowners insurance put up a fight refusing to compensate the parents for the damage as the Clause in the insurance would not cover any damage done by a family member or person living in the home. It would take more in Leagal fees to get any money out of the insurance company and years of court appearances, mean while the morgage holder is up in arms about the insurance being canceled by the Company.

To invite a stranger to move in for more then 48 hours in New Hampshire is insane, if you own your own home.    Renters may be forced to move, the landlord will have special insurance that covers all damage done to the home, but if you have homeowners insurance on your home and live there, best read the fine print.

Oh BTW a family member lived with us for 14 years and could not get renters insurance on their personal goods. Reason, I had the Rottie and the company's were afraid that if the family member had company and the dog ate them all up, not just us but he would be sued.

Unless one gets a special insurance policy for renters, it is Gamble for the homeowner to allow anyone to stay on their property, even 3-4 days in a tent in the back yard.

Maine I do not know the laws but they are strange.  Rented an apartment for year, along comes a chance to house sit for 9 months-- free of charge.    We had been in the apartment for 7 months, had 5 months to go on the lease, so we moved out, kept the lease up to date.  Why not, we were taking a loss of $1,200 but it was worth it to move into much nicer and bigger quarters.   We used the apartment to store our personal belongings as the house  was fully furnished, then when the ownes returned we would have to have somplace to live until they went back south and we could move back in.

A good 6 weeks into this I bought some wonderful stuff at a flee market ad took a small U-Haul to store it in the apartment and when we got there all the lights in the place was on and the landlord and 2 town police were inside.

Why were they there, the rent was paid, I had not recieved any notice of any kind of inspection and why the Cops???  Ex-Huby being a Souhern good old boy who spoke the truth started  explain but I shut his mouth fast.

Going on 72 hours and no reply.

He should have offered 200 week. 100 a week won't get your foot in the door of a flea bag motel.

Besides, it would cost more than 400 to fumigate after he left.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
