Oh my.

Chief S itting Bull, the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive.

I feel like a dork with this ponytail...

I'm growing out my hair for the Locks of Love program (for the second time). The way it works is that you grow your hair to 10 or 12 inches long, and they chop it off to make wigs for kids with cancer. I'm about halfway there in length.

They don't want dyed hair, and of course no kid wants a wig made of grey hair, so I figured I can do it one more time while my hair's still black.

But I wonder, when people see me with the ponytail, if they think I'm one of those middle-aged guys who's trying to regain his hippie youth or something. (Not that I generally care what people think, as you know.)

And I had my first business meeting a couple of days ago, and with the ponytail stuffed down inside my shirt, nobody noticed...I may do this again after this episode...it's kinda convenient to tie up your hair in the morning and not have to bother with brushing or combing it the rest of the day.

3. That works. When I was in the electronics business, I generally did not wear a tie. But ever since I started my own business, I make it a point (though I'm no clotheshorse) to be the best-dresed person in any business meeting.

Even if my client's dress code is a jockstrap and a feather, I'll be the guy with the suit and tie. That, and being over 6 feet tall and with long black hair, goes a long way to take control of the direction of the meeting (and to help me talk them into spending money with my company).

5. Very well and concisely said. And it works even better if you wear "timeless classic" clothes rather than what's in style at the time (like pleated pants were for a few years, or those idiotic yellow ties in the 1980s).

And, oh, this might not fit into the "timeless classic" idea, I do wear Tony Lama cowboy boots and Western shirts with snaps instead of buttons (but no string ties!)

*****after which a photograph of Chief S itting Bull*****

I dunno; I'm no clothes-horse--although I do wear three-piece pinstriped suits once in a while--but it seems to me from the haberdashery perspective that Chief S itting Bull should just stick with dressing in whatever New Hampshireans-Vermonters dress in, rather than trying to emulate cowboys.  Chief S itting Bull doesn't know s it about cowboys anyway, not least their garb.

I don't care for the Chief's mustache.  Then again, I don't like any mustache.

20. I never cut my hair under the previous "president."

Reminds me of Eddie Vedder, who cut his hair into a Mohawk, declaring that it would stay that way until we stopped bombing Afghanistan.  That lasted 2 weeks or so.  The dude is pushing 50, and can't really carry that look off.

I actually broke a chair one time, when I happened to see a photograph Chief S itting Bull had posted of himself, wearing a cowboy hat.

Most of us know what the Bostonian Drunkard looks like, wearing a cowboy hat, and I suppose others here will have to take my word that franksolich himself looks pretty stupid wearing a cowboy hat (that's why I prefer bush helmets); about as stupid as the Bostonian Drunkard.

But Chief S itting Bull in a cowboy hat, well.....

I was laughing so hard that when I leaned back, "snap!" went the chair.

Fortunately, it was one of those thrift-store chairs.  I buy them six or seven at a time, for a buck apiece, because the cats here like to scratch on them.

2. ponytails on men

are SEXY!!

OMG! no they're not, they look like women.

I remember when I was a kid, Hippies were around, and my Dad used to say to me "that if you bring home a guy with a pony tail I'll hang him out on the clothesline by the ponytail". The OP's post brought back that memory for me LOL.

Wild Bill, the hippyhubby spouse of hippywife Mrs. Alfred Packer, has a ponytail too.

His hair's however grey, and so it looks even stupider.

It's a long story . . . and our very own chris_ is at the start of it all.  He invited me to join a site called LinkedIn.  I accepted.  A young woman that my wife and I knew about 12 or so years ago saw this, and invited me to join her network on LinkedIn.  I accepted, and told her to email me.  Weeeeell, I got an email from her.  Just a link in it.  I thought, "Maybe she sent me a link to an update site." O-) It wasn't.  It was a site for ordering Viagra.  Also, said site sent emails out to anyone I've ever contacted from that emailbox.   :argh:  So, now I have to go home and remove the damned thing.

My sister called me this morning, and told me that her husband didn't need Viagra . . . but he had clicked on the link, too . . . and she had wanted to do this to him: :hammer: So, their email list got the same message. O-)

They absolutely will take died hair. My hair grows really fast so I give them my hair once a year. I get it cut around spring and by the next spring it's down to the middle of my back again.

I thought DUmmy Redstone was a contemporary of TiTtyboy, who's gotta be mid-60s.

And I thought he was one of those creepy 5% Indian leeches who wears a long, greasy ponytail with a string tie, fastened with a big, trashy hunk of turquoise, in order to qualify for some federal Indian handout.

Yeah, there is a contradiction, or a lie, somewhere here.

On one hand, Chief S itting Bull once alleged to have been born in 1954.

On another hand, there's all these Vietnam-era tales he's told, that couldn't have possibly happened to him if he had been born that late.

I dunno which one to believe, but it seems reasonable the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive is closer to the lying tits primitive's age, circa 61 or 62.

That was one of those romantic notions Chief S itting Bull picked up while hitch-hiking through the American southwest with the lying tits primitive during the late 1960s, early 1970s.

Every primitive wants to be a member of a long-ago oppressed minority group.

The bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive appears to have been derived from the Irish, with about as much Native American blood in him as in franksolich.
