Unforgivable..... and untenable.

Trillions in cuts in domestic spending and no new revenues. No closing of loopholes.

From the WaPO:

Levin said a potential deal-breaker was the trigger — which forces spending cuts across the board if a special committee cannot produce as much as $1.8 trillion in cuts that win approval from the Congress. If the potential cuts to Medicare under this trigger include reductions in any benefits to the elderly, Levin said, “then you’re going to lose a lot of Democrats.”

I knew there would be a deal. I knew it would be one in which Seniors and the poor were whacked upside the head with a two by four. I hope it serves to sharpen focus and doesn't lead to walking aound in a dazy.

Look who's back.

Well, my question is.....

If the seniors and the poor are being whacked, does this mean the Big Zero's going to cancel his $38,000-a-head birthday party Wednesday?

I refer lurking primitives to the link on my signature line, that Bastille Day message.

We’ve got to educate the American people at the same time we educate the President of the United States. The Republicans, Speaker Boehner or Majority Leader Cantor did not call for Social Security cuts in the budget deal. The President of the United States called for that. My response to him is to mass thousands of people in front of the White House to protest this. ---John Conyers (D-Mich.)

BTW DUmmie, Obama also stripped 500 billion from Medicaid.

Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Not a peep from cali since the big wallduding.

I set the over/under on her reappearance at Monday 8/1.She may already be standing around with co-workers in a Barnes & Noble or Academy Sports.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Well, I'm still wondering about something.

In view of this serious financial crisis, in which many of the humble, mean, and low are bound to suffer, has the Big Zero called off his $38,000-per-person birthday party for Wednesday night?

Does anybody know?

Lurking primitives might want to consult my Bastille Day message to the primitives, the link being on my signature line below.

The sound of helicopters over the Chicago lakefront today signaled the practice drills that accompany a presidential visit. And with Congress poised to act on a deal to raise the federal debt ceiling, President Barack Obama's plans to return to his hometown and engage in some fundraising are back on.

Obama is scheduled to attend a 50th birthday gala on Wednesday at the Aragon Ballroom, an event featuring Jennifer Hudson and Herbie Hancock. There’s also a dinner fundraiser planned for some special donors to go with the show at a cost of $35,800 a person.

As has been the case, fundraising dollars are being split between Obama’s 2012 re-election fund and the Democratic National Committee.
