Pastors Accuse Planned Parenthood for 'Genocide' on Blacks

Thursday, April 24, 2008

By Kelley Beaucar Vlahos

WASHINGTON —  The Planned Parenthood Federation of America has perpetuated a “genocide on the black community,” says a group of African-American pastors who claimed Thursday the birth control and abortion provider has had a racist agenda since its beginnings in 1921.

Holding a brief vigil and press conference in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Washington, D.C., the group of pastors and activists said they were incensed by the results of recent “undercover” inquiries into several Planned Parenthood clinics across the country.

“Every day … over 1,500 black babies are murdered inside the black woman’s womb,” said Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, of Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND). “This is a race issue.”

Lila Rose's investigation continues to do damage to PlannedParenthood.   :cheersmate:

If you go to the link, PlannedParenthood, as usual, is trying to spin this story.   :whatever:   However, as we all know, many are now becoming aware of this organization's past  and are responding appropriately.

To remind everyone, here is a link that goes into detail about Margaret Sanger's "lovely" project:

Thanks for the update and additional info. I saw the spin and liberal outrage posted on another board (not political). And I'm not providing a link because it would counterproductive for anyone to go over there and try to engage them. If the Admins want me to take this sampling down, I will.

Check out how they are rationalizing this -

Oh Jesus, you get racists in every walk of life, in the same way that you'll find homophobics and sexists. The actions of one person do not represent an entire organisation that consists of thousands.

Margaret Sanger was racist, yes. As i've said before: she was a turn of the century white woman. Show me one that WASN'T racist in some way and i'll show you an oddity (for those times). The Planned Parenthood of today is no more racist than the Volkswagon of today is National Socialist (because you know, the Nazis invented those, better boycott! Oh, and Hitler was vegetarian, so logically: all vegetarians = sympathetic to Hitler!!!!).

oh noes, one employee did something bad and got canned for it.

Shit, that must mean the ENTIRE ORGANIZATION IS RUN BY THE KKK!!! OH NOES!!

People seeking abortions are often highly racist. My mother, a clinic counselor, says many white patients tell her that they do not believe in abortion and do not think it should be used as birth control, but because the baby is going to be half-black they have to get rid of it. After all, what would they tell people?

THIS IS SO STUPID.
and silly! im so sick of mis-information out there like this! this is just a ruse to stop financial support for a wonderful program like planned parenthood! they helped me in my time of great need where I couldn't have gone anywhere else for it  and they've helped a lot of young women like me. I wish religious fundies and their bullshit would die a ****ing death in this country already and stay outta my body you ****-wits

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I thought it was pretty much general common knowledge that Margaret Sanger, founder of the Planned Parenthoodlums, was a racist; and not just any ordinary run-of-the-mill racist, but an especially rabid one.

When pointed out the primitives (garden variety, not island dwelling) they equivocate - "All white women were racists in her day!!!" etc, etc... :whatever:

turning the abortion issue into some legalistic discussion of individual rights (which has been successfully
accomplished, by the way) is to turn your back on the basic moral essence of the human condition.

we can't win this argument on this ground.  it just doesn't compute.  what we need, and what this story
may rather nicely accomplish, is turn this back into the basic argument over moral first principles that it
needs to be.

I'm going to think on this before replying, however I'll point out the only time I was harassed via electronic communications incessantly by a liberal was over the fact that Margaret Sanger was indeed a eugenist who specifically targeted people of color. They really really really do not like to have that little tidbit exposed to the general public, perhaps they don't even believe it themselves because it aligns them, many self-professed 'progressives' where race is concerned, with racist eugenists and that's a bitter pill to swallow especially considering the race most affected by abortion still are blacks.

Unlike the slavery issues, this 'past digging' is relevant because abortions are still prevalent occurances in the black community and planned parenthood is still a powerful organizations in the U.S.

Well...except for the fact that PP accepts over 100 million in federal grants every year.....this considered, I think that a case might be made under the civil rights laws.....

the solution is to do away with the federal grants, not worry that their use has any sort of disparate impact.
I will leave the whole topic of the current state of federal civil rights law aside.
