You and I are in total agreement on that one.  I would love for it to demand a balanced budget and if congress and the white house cannot do so none are eligible for re-election.

That would be a good start.

I saw a great line yesterday.  Congressmen and diapers should be changed regularly and both for the same reason........

I wouldn't mind it being worded in a fashion that restricts revenue collection to a set percentage of GDP as well.

Republican senators consider backing Reid debt plan

The House plans on voting on Speaker John Boehner's debt limit plan this evening, but with its demise imminent in the Senate, some Senate Republicans are considering getting behind Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's alternative plan.

"I voted for cut, cap, and balance,'" Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts said today, in reference to the House Republicans' initial debt limit plan. "I'll vote for Boehner, and I'll vote for Reid. I've already said that. We need to move our country forward. It's time."

"Move our country forward"? What? Move the country forward ... right off the friggin cliff?? If you never seen anybody who is literally chomping at the bit to "steal defeat from the jaws of victory", then you've never met the republican party.
